I politely disagree. I prefer to dress the salad minimally and then let whoever is eating it add dressing as they see fit. You lose control of the amount of dressing if you dress it in the bowl.

Regarding salad dressings: buy 2-3 small mason jars at the grocery store. They're perfect containers for mixing and storing homemade salad dressings and cost a buck or two at most.
