Oh, well hello Ruby! It's nice to finally meet you in person. If you believe you know more than doctors, I behoove you to go to medical school.
What are you talking about? I never even replied to you...
And where pray tell do you suppose they send that bill to a homeless person (as it was stated in the article)?
This is really fascinating to me. I don't have that disconnect of being SURE something is happening to me when I know with irrefutable evidence that it's not, so it's completely fascinating to me that it exists, especially with something that can be scientifically disproven.
If she's in the ER and uninsured, then insurance for the physician will pick it up (I think?), but I doubt a specialist is going to take her without her writing a check up front.
Well they all did independent ultra sounds, so she did get independent reviews, she just didn't like the answers. Even the hospital did independent reviews after admitting her.
Oh honey, I have bi-polar disorder. I know not all mentally ill people are a danger to society.
Your mind can actually trick your body into physical symptoms. It is not unheard of.
It sounds like the ER is her go-to since I guess one of the conditions of her release was to not see specialists? Either way, I would venture to say that the reason she's having such a hard time getting into see a specialist is because she probably isn't insured.
Given that she fooled a doctor into believing she was open to other possibilities then left the hospital to go spend thousands more dollars at "specialists", she's probably going to find a way to continue to justify this delusion. My greatest fear is that she's going to end up like some Law and Order special and she's…
I think in this case this poor woman needs psychiatric help more than she needs OB/GYNs. I also think her family needs to intervene, because taking time away from medically necessary visits in the ER to have your 20th ultrasound is beyond ridiculous and awful.
Someone needs to remind karma that certain professions don't get a Christmas break.
Good question. They mentioned she was homeless for awhile and in a shelter, and she doesn't regularly speak to her family and doesn't really have any friends. I'm going to guess she also doesn't have a job and insurance. So if I'm betting money she's probably seeing all these people and not paying them.
It's sad really. And I have to agree with her doctors. I do think she needs psychiatric treatment. This is akin to being a hypochondriac or Munchausens.
"When I research something, I get really, really into it."
The unfortunate problem is there's virtually no way 20 medical professionals are incorrect, where as she feels "When I research something, I get really, really into it." is a justifiable medical license to diagnose yourself.
I've got on pink today bitches!! Cause it's Wednesday!
Yes, I'm sure they're the picture of perfection when it comes to handling these things all the time... says the person who blindly follows college administration.
