I was in New York in December. After five days of sleep deprivation, I was headed home. I was in Times Square subway station, planning to meet a friend in front of the midtown Marriott where we would take the subway from Port Authority out to meet the AirTrain to JFK. By the stairway at Times Square was a rat the size…
I've seen my share of subway rats and I can tell you that they look nothing like the rat in the above picture, with its cute little manicured paws and groomed whiskers. That rat needs to check its privilege.
"That's not scary at all!"
Yeah, I had a lot of Nice Guy traits when I was in my teens/early 20's. It's an easy thing to fall into, but (in my experience at least) easy enough to grow out of. Though it probably helped that MRA communities weren't really a thing yet. It's got to be tougher to mature when you have a bunch of assholes trying to…
I fell into a Nice Guy mentality exactly once in my life as an 18 year old. And it was so stupid on my part, so cringeworthy, so embarrassing in retrospect, that I’ve sworn to never repeat it.
I used to be a 'nice guy' type of asshole earlier in life. Then I met a girl who was a feminist who finally set me straight.
It's quite a sobering experience when you realize you've been acting like a Nice Guy. When I caught myself thinking, "I don't care if she's not into me like that, I think I'm owed something for my years of being a good friend," I literally got sick to my stomach. I still can't look at the girl without feeling bad…
Showing up to your best friend's house and declaring your love for her - regardless of any intention of a clean break - is the goddamn textbook definition of pursuing your best friend's wife.
And don't forget that the Stars played Guile's Theme and the Punch-Out training music in fights earlier this year.
Wow, you don't realize how dehumanized these cheerleaders are until you see that they are named after their goddamn uniform.
But nothing she said was fundamentally that terrible. And in fact, it seems a lot of it was likely to have been constructed: http://kotaku.com/5886674/biowar…
As was Canada's solution to the ship of cannibal rats, perhaps they can just tether him off the coast of St. John's for years until deeming him safe to float toward Europe.
The Sherlock Tumblr fandom is a separate world, where the logic and sanity of ours has no place or parallel. I've run with fandoms in my day, and I won't deny that a part of me still delights at sharing my love with other fans, but in all my years, I have never run across a Tumblr as fanfictastic as the Sherlock one. N…
Because Cumberbitches be crazy.
I think, for many, the Internet has created the illusion that actions don't have consequences. Online, you can mock people, bully them, send them death threats. But, since it is happening in a virtual environment, no harm is perceived as being done. Because it is not seen as real.
Have you ever been on Tumblr? :P
But she's so wonderful and funny and a perfect match for the two of them. Her and Sherlock's relationship is so sweet, too.
