The most I'm most excited for this year, by a longshot.

In somewhat related news, if the rumors about John Boyega being part of this movie are true, I may burst into flames.
Better? At least I hope?
It's not a good show, but it's reasonably watchable, even though I wish it didn't treat every single person who was not a member of the main cast as functionally a subversive person.
I do not watch wrestling, but I always check out New Day bits on YouTube, because holy fucking shit are they hilarious.
I mean this nicely, but how many of Japan's urban legends revolve around wet children being terrifying?
Well, I didn't DO a pop culture thing, inasmuch as AGREE to take on a pop-culture thing.
Well, if the MLB is going to take steps to try to shorten the length of the game (sometimes by modifying/changing the rules), I'm going to continue to hope that games try and be a little less superficial, even the shoot em' ups.
Oh, the lack of a clear, obvious "Good Guys v. bad guys" narrative must be a huge reason why it went untouched for so long. (Also, the weapons, by and large, aren't exactly modern FPS fare.)
Yeah, I really want to hear this (and will happily pay for it as I love Chance) but I will not sign up for Apple Music to get it. I can wait.
It's not perfect by a longshot, but Spec Ops really is the only FPS that even tries to address the larger ramifications of what modern FPSes ask players to do, and I really loved that.
Yeah, as I've aged, and games have become more "realistic", the depictions of violence therein have unsettled me more, not because I think they'll turn kids into homicidal monsters, but because they're dealt with in such a superficial way.
Yup.
When I think of "nostalgia", I think of wide-eyed, simple-minded "gosh gee-willickers wasn't everything GREAT back then?" nonsense, which I think AG neatly elides.
I'm okay with that. I misspoke, I've been taken to three musicals (Rent, The Music Man, The Book of Mormon), tried to sit through another 3. Hated them. All.
Can I say an entire genre of thing?
Oh thank God, it's not just me.
I can give a hard pass to any/all 1950s nostalgia.
I am very happy for this, for TNC, for Chadwick Boseman, and very happy to hear that they're talking to Lupita Nyong'o about being in the BP movie.
It wasn't until I read about that movie that the proliferation of "Big black dicks & little white chicks" porn began to make sense.
