On that note, it irked me to no end when they decided on Hulu’s Runaways to give Geoffrey Wilder a “gangsta” backstory. This is not part of the comic, and was only added because Hollywood writers can’t conceive of a wealthy black man who didn’t earn his wealth through gang activities.
