I don’t know about the US, but over here (Germany), people have started to buy new cars online on brand-independent websites (such as autohaus24.de), where they can easily configure cars and then pick them up somewhere far away. This makes it very hard for traditional sales people.

nice, finally an EV, that looks both futuristic (like an i3) and not shit (like an i3 but more like a Scirocco)

I would suggest that the trucks only drive long distances on the highways to predefined parking spaces. There they are picked up by a few drivers around logistics centers who then do the tricky backing-up and loading/unloading bits. That way the companies can still save a lot of money on drivers (since they need far

I suspect Apple (and Google for that matter) went in too early. They probably loaded up on now-outdated talent and technology that didn’t work out fast enough - now they are being overtaken by Tesla and Volvo. Maybe they are now trying to regain lost momentum with wild ideas that won’t lead anywhere, like buying into

I approve of this nonsense, because unlike most people I want to combine a slightly higher seating position with not driving an SUV. I already drive a lifted Passat with the seat in the highest position and now the options of getting a new, jacked up wagon are becoming more plentiful. Good, good, times.

Neutral: Shoddy engineering/programming: In the race to bring the first fully autonomous car on the road, companies will inevitably cut corners in development. There is already so much new tech out that doesn’t really always work (auto-dimming high beams, lane-assist, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, automatic braking),

The price makes me want to cry. They are so much more expensive over here in Europe. :-(

That may be true for people who buy cars to make a statement, I don’t know. I buy a car to enjoy it myself. I like the better mileage of hybrids and electrics but I couldn’t bring myself to walk out to an i3 every morning. A Tesla though...

I believe that much of Tesla’s success in electric cars comes from the fact that they look surprisingly good - not just different (read: ugly) like the BMW i-range or pretty much anything from Toyota’s green offerings.
Other premium car companies, like Merc, Audi and BMW simply need to copy this idea. Make an electric

I think that he might had autopilot engaged - also, maybe the turbines sucked him in, while he tried to pass underneath the plane.

Please somebody tell me why all the new SUVs need to have these thin headlights so high up? It makes them look so ridiculous (especially when compared to the LR4).

I was really looking forward to this, as a possible replacement for our aging Passat (and seeing how the Seat Ateca is priced versus the new Tiguan, it shouldn’t be too pricey, either).
But, the looks! I don’t want my kids to be frightened! Also, why in the world do cars this tall, need to have thin horizontal

What I like: All the technology (hard to imagine what coding skills they must have had to process all that information with early 90s computing power), the rear design (Honda NSX!!!), the fact that Mercedes tried to make an F40 beater.

Lamborghini don’t get the reason why women buy big SUVs. It’s because they look menacing. Or have you ever seen a lady in high heels get out of a “cute little” Range Rover or a “friendly” Cayenne with all-round tinted windows? Even more so with kids. Ever since we started having them, my wife points at every Mercedes

I think the main problem with this is that they seem to be listening to the Johnny English soundtrack, which is a horrible copy of the James Bond music. Nothing good can be expected here.

Neutral: Really, if I am to spend several thousands of my dollars (or other local currency), I would rather not do it over my smartphone on a subway, but safely at home or in an actual store with real people. I think this trend to shop everything on the go might not extend to cars. What’s next - “Built-a-house”-app?

I think it is actually possible to find a vehicle that fits his “wants” (maybe a European wagon of some sort). But his “don’t wants” are the problem. For instance, I can’t think of any current (large) car, that doesn’t have any driver aids while offering proper climate zones.

The classic car market is comparable to the art and soccer player markets, in the sense that a small number of high-value transactions can move the entire market. That’s also why I wouldn’t be so sure about it “sliding”. Since the capital markets are in a strange stage at the moment, I think that all alternative

I suspect writing the article about the most expensive cars sold at Pebble gave you some silly ideas... Never, ever, look up the value of your own car, especially if you like it!
However, this is a valuable service to the rest of us, because we are always having trouble starting conversations like this: “Honey,

I would suggest the following to everyone in the neighborhood: Look at the big white trailer like a Tesla would and you won’t see it anymore... Problem solved
