Agreed. I thought I'd go comatose when my mom died, but if anything I became more functioning to make sure everything was done correctly...maybe a year later I started crying, but not like I expected. You can surprise yourself with how well you react to loss.

I somewhat agree...there is a lot of seeping during decomposition though. I don't know that I would ever have been comfortable using the basement.
