Try that the next time you’re on South Beach. Shit gets expensive out there. Also why I don’t go that often.

It’s amazing how much of the city remains from those days.
It looks like it was much nicer back when the poors didn’t have automobiles.
It may have been emptier, but you were much more likely to be run over by a drunk millionaire in a duesenberg.
This was excellent. Whats crazy is that most if not all of the buildings and structures, a lot of the ones in the background were standing then and are still standing today.
Driving through New York can be harrowing, but that’s mostly because there are way too many vehicles on the streets.…
This article made me realise that I will never be able to look at another press photo without thinking about a white guy behind the wheel
To say nothing of the fact that you could slip and end up getting your legs run over by the back wheels.
Here is me, escaping into the woods forever with an E24 after seeing the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.
It’s always impressive to be reminded of the size of these signs... and to think tht they basically have to stand there on two sticks, able to withstand whatever winds the area has to offer, yet break away if struck by a vehicle. There is some humble but on-point engineering behind all that.
Further articles on other aspects of Interstate signage -- not just the standards, but the traffic engineering and applied psychology behind it -- would also be interesting. I seem to vaguely recall that such things are examples of functional rather than just aesthetic design with a ton of intentionality behind it.

It was well documented that Henry Ford was an asshole.
Henry Ford was probably the worst example you could have thrown out. Ford got an award from Hitler because he hated Jews and loved Nazis.

I’ve honestly tried to stay quiet on all the Uber bashing here on Gawker, but here are my 2 cents: it’s impossible to build a $70 billion company that takes down a century-old industry without basically being a psychotic asshole. Kalanick was an asshole, but he got his company to grow and thrive. Uber needs a COO/CPO…
Does he shit BESIDE his litter box when you piss him off? Mine does :(
