You’ll be disappointed to learn that I am also not dead.

What about being able to get into (out of the car) when it bricks?

If only there was a way to permanently silence that loudmouth fuckstain in charge of Tesla...

The only things I like in newer cars are Wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, Backup cameras, & the blind spot indicator on the side mirrors. Everything else I found I didn’t really use it or I didn’t want it.

Yeah, I don’t know what that is even supposed to be. Automatic climate control has been a thing for decades now, and it has worked perfectly fine without a ChatGPT injection.

Didn’t know we were calling PID control ‘smart’ or ‘AI’.

Smart AI-based climate control?

If a car is collecting data on me to be sold to other companies....I don’t want it.

most customers don’t appreciate technology [...] unless they can see a clear benefit to them

Many people replying to you here that are okay erosion of liberty, as long as they agree with the circumstance / example being used. Sad.

This seems like judicial overreach. This is why hard cases make bad laws. Lawyers will always try and push a precedent to further limits each and every time. You gotta set hard and fast limitations on them to stop this sort of thing.

Dang, you hardly fly your jet at all.  :)

As a Gen-X’er this doesn’t even register as a debate for me. The only thing I’ve ever used my Apple Wallet for are airplane boarding passes. There is a less than zero percent chance I will ever volunteer to use a digital id. If they try to force me, I’ll go off grid and into the woods.

Illinois has a new digital ID law going into effect on January 1st. They’ve taken this into account, at least. The text of the law includes, “Provides that the display of a mobile identification card and driver’s license shall not serve as consent or authorization for a law enforcement officer, or any other person, to

I was wondering about this. I recently got a notification that Ohio is allowing digital IDs and I opted out. No way am I giving even the slightest hint of consent to search my phone. Not that I’m doing anything illegal, just do not trust law enforcement at all.

Fucking called it. As soon as they came up with this digital bullshit, I called that it would be used as an excuse by cops to roll back even more of our rights.

No shit.

I was interested in these when they were first announced and I thought they would start at $45K. Then I realized that they were going to be more expensive and my interest has waned.

I really, really, really wish they’d name that Foxconn site “Scott Walker Park.”

I hate him more than T. He literally wrote a book explaining the insecurities of his people, then used that data to exploit them for their votes. I hope he goes down in flames, but I suspect we’ll be dealing with him (and certainly his lot) for decades.
