I know that Audi isn’t the most reliable (especially next to Merc and BMW), but still: no 4cyl should be less efficient than a V6 or V8 (next to our friends’ V6/I6/V8 cars and SUVs, we paid more for fuel and oil than they did...and one set of friends had a QX80 and an Escalade).
That’s what Audi said it was. Not an engine expert myself (basics only).

Dude, this totally resonates with me. Sometimes cars don’t fit people’s expectations (in your case, exceeds and in mine, fails to meet). No car is the same, after all.
