The first one failed at about 6k miles, the most recent one at 22k; they seem fine until the rev down to idle process starts getting... sluggish. The RPMs climb when you let off the gas because it’s not detecting you came off the pedal completely. Not good for clutches.
I have a 2018 Focus, but mine has a manual. It’s been trouble-free for 25,000 miles. Except for the accelerator pedal position sensor which seems to only last about 10k miles.
