I love the hell out of it! My point is more, as great as the Macfarlane suite of shows may or may not have gotten, they all take so few risks in changing their visual look, that something like BB is so refreshing after an hour and a half of Macfarlane. Its just a plus that the writing and acting is just as good.

I think a large part of the appeal of Bob's Burgers is that its 
a. Not been on the air for over 20 years and 
b. not created by Seth McFarlane.
Regardless of your opinion of the writing of any of the shows, its so refreshing to have a show that has a little visual variety.
