Like, fuck JK Rowling and her stupid racist fantasy world, and especially fuck people who claim to be allies but bought and played this game anyway, but it’s 6 months post-release and this game is a single-player RPG. I don’t think it’s a sign of anything that a lot fewer people are playing it every day.

Listen, DS9 is my favorite, too, but honestly, you just must not have not seen TOS or TNG if you think there was no (or merely little) shades of gray on those shows.

Agreed. The standards for Star Trek are just so, so much higher. That the new shows have been regularly meeting or exceeding them is so exciting for this lifelong Trekkie who really thought it was all over in 1999 when DS9 ended.

She’s jedi leaning, but she’s not so black and white in her ideology.

What’s interesting is how little Star Trek was interested in grey areas for a long time - until Gene Roddenberry died, the Federation were always the good guys and the bad guys were always bad

Of the six new Star Trek shows announced since 2017 (Disco, Picard, Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, Prodigy, Starfleet Academy), only two of them star “legacy” characters, and only one season of one them could be described as a full “revival/sequel.”

I can’t even imagine them recasting ... Obi-Wan for a new movie.

Yes, and they explained exactly that when they posted about halting production. They said they literally couldn’t do their jobs without violating union rules.

You think I’m arguing with you more than I actually am. I am only objecting (if strongly) to the use of the word “solidarity” to describe why a Netflix show is not “currently” in production.

Have these people not heard of robots.txt?

They shut it down because they had to. They didn’t have a choice, as they explained at the time. That’s not what “solidarity” means.

The show’s production is currently halted in solidarity with the writers’ strike.

This is hilarious because The Hateful Eight looked like shit in 70mm. The outdoor vistas looked like an insurance commercial, and the indoor scenes looked like a low-budget 1980s comedy.

The colors will be richer

he’s been hailed as the savior of cinema
His one, true public passion is protecting the cinema
he’s recently been elevated to cinema’s most ardent protector
If there’s one thing we know Tom Cruise cares about, it’s movies
hard to imagine Cruise on the picket line. Not because he doesn’t care

That is the opposite of what SAG wants you to do.

Variety reports that Tom Cruise actually entreated SAG-AFTRA “to allow movie stars to continue promoting their new films, given the challenging theatrical landscape.” When SAG-AFTRA reportedly counted by asking Cruise to join the picket lines and come out publicly in support of the labor action, he was

Gladiator 2

They canned Batgirl over less. For yet another entry in an already officially dead franchise, this must be a serious case of sunk cost.

Given the headline, I was really expecting some kind of actual game with this, like different pattens on the cookies making for some kind of simple sequence or matching activity you can play with your kids or something, but no, it’s just a stupid social media promo to drive brand engagement.
