Sega’s 3D Pad, that came out the same month as the N64 did (with their NiGHTs into Dreams game)

it means that it took them all of four months to come up with a significantly better design.

Sony included a toggle button to turn the analog sticks off because they weren’t sure developers would adopt them and didn’t want players to accidentally move them in those games, that’s how little they knew better.

Silly, the N64 controller was *also* generation-defining. Both Sony and Sega rushed to produce analog controllers in anticipation of the N64 launch.

I remember “Jeopardy!” for N64 used the D-pad, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t play any other games that used it.

I find myself having to do this sometimes when I’m out of milk. Every time I try my best to make it work and every time it just sucks. I truly do not understand where this take comes from.
