Thanks!
Thanks!
Great, thanks! I recall hearing something about that before but wasn’t aware that you could still start on a hostile planet. I’m the kind of guy that restarts Civ games to get a great start, so I’m happy to do a do-over on this too.

I caved and bought it this morning. I’d been following the game for years, through the hype machine, the disastrous launch, and the early patches adding more content, just waiting until it finally looked in a stage where I was ready to jump in. Quite frankly, looks like it’s here!
You live in a fantasy land.
So, your theory is some 17 year old, who has some gang member walk up to her and say, “If you don’t come to our brothel and work for us, or if you go to the police, we’ll report you to ICE who will deport your entire family (or possibly, even have our contacts in the ICE deport your entire family)” is actually going…
If you live in the Southwest, it’s possible you could go volunteer with one of the organizations which are helping the families, like RAICES or the CARA Pro Bono Project in San Antonio, or Anunciation House in El Paso. There’s a lot of resources out there that might be more local, too, if you do a big of digging…
“While at the same time, sanctuary laws create a concentrated pool of vulnerable potential victims for criminals to target”
Thank you for your kindness. We are all in this together.
Thank you for your words and your perspective. It really is about seeing these families as people, people who just wanted to flee harm or *gasp* just wanted to make a better life for themselves and for their children. So many want to view them as statistics but when you talk to them face to face... there are no words…
You’re far too kind. I’m one of many hundreds of people around the country right now who are stepping up to help. This injustice is bringing a lot of people together to fight it.
Basically not; that sort of behavior, the government arresting the government, is extremely unusual. The main consequences of not meeting a deadline like this would be for the judge to rule more harshly against the government in any final decision.
I can’t say much for confidentiality reasons but I’m currently volunteering to help with some of the separated families and the whole thing is fucking sickening. A grown man burst into tears in front of me when he told me had to lie to his son to get him to go peacefully when they were being separated. Some of the…
Thankfully, at least some of the children are being held in facilities that aren’t completely shit. For example, the Leake and Watts facility in Yonkers, where a few of the kids were sent, has been working with foster kids and orphans for over 150 years and has an actually really nice tree-lined campus.
>? Are we actually supposed to see them as eight people on a journey together, or as completely separate stories that you experience simultaneously?
that epilogue was replaced with Sufjan Stevens
Sure!
God, I wish. Her Twitter is amazing.
Making only some, but not all, of the money is just a cross I’ll have to bear.
The latter. Gawker.com did not come along with the other sites (Jezebel, Gizmodo, etc...) but was sold separately at auction.
