only some innuendo about an “ice box,” and the report on the “ice boxes” to which the article linked was about the Rio Grande Valley which is literally thousands of miles both from where she crossed the border and from where she died in the hospital.

It’s amazing that lying schmucks like her even have working tear ducts.

Of course, Sessions stopped caring a long time ago. He’s getting to do exactly what he’s always wanted to do; fuck with immigrants and black people and put them back “in their place.” A little indignity is a small price to pay for him being able to do the racist shit he’s always wanted to do.

... yep. No thanks, Bethesda!

At least in the past few hours, while the lag has been bad I’ve been able to reply directly. Kinja! *shakes angry fist*

No, but you click the link in the dashboard and it takes you to the comment.

Yes! You have to click on the main article and then scroll down to the person who responded to you and then reply. If you go straight from your notifications it doesn’t work. It’s so dumb.

It only being when linked from the dashboard explains why replying to an article was OK, while replying to someone’s response to me was not working.’

Ahahaha, here’s a brand-new error! Never seen this one before!

Ugh the inability to click “Reply” when you went to the thread from the dashboard is so bad!

Fuck ABC. They’ve known about Roseanne’ racism for years, and this is the last straw for them?

Yep. Just.... no.

You’re doing that thing that men do when they want to try to argue about what they did or didn’t say that was objectively racist or sexist as opposed to trying to focus the discussion on what to do when that racist or sexist thing is said

It’s complicated? HHS actually doesn’t have the kind of responsibility we normally think agencies have in situations like this. The entire point of the sponsor agreement is that the sponsor agrees to take over the direct control of the child’s welfare, and HHS is largely freed of its responsibility.

It’s unclear. Apparently the 1,500 number comes from HHS conducting 30-day follow-up calls to sponsors. I don’t know whether or not those were happening before Trump came to office.

what I don’t understand is how sponsors who were “extremely vetted” by ORR/HHS could be undocumented? Wouldn’t this have disqualified them as sponsors from the get-go?

instead they would amplify it by pointing out that DHHS, the DOJ, and ICE have created an environnent where not only are thousands of kids unaccounted for, but that they were forced underground

I’m an immigration lawyer and an immigration advocate. I am in 100% agreement with the Twitter thread.

in many cases sponsors cannot be reached because they themselves are illegal aliens and do not want to be reached by federal authorities

What? When? At the end of the video when the cop is shouting “stop resisting” I can hear her saying “I’m not” and then something completely garbled that sounds like “resisting” after that, but where are you hearing that? Is there another video out there?
