No, the second part is what’s been incorrectly conflated by a lot of people. The “missing 1,500” is a distinct and different issue than the brand new Trump administration policy of family seperation. The HHS reports where the 1,500 number comes from is about kids who arrived at the border without their parents in

I completely agree, and if you look at my other responses you’ll see that’s a big failure on HHS’s behalf.

While I would definitely not rule out that some of those 1,500 kids have been trafficked (it has absolutely happened before and I’m not trying to diminish that), I absolutely believe that the vast majority of the 1,500 have not been trafficked. If you check the twitter thread I linked elsewhere in this comment

Yeah, she did a way better job explaining things than my exhausted brain did last night :)

I think this tweet and the ones that follow sum up my thoughts actually really well.

WTF are you on about? There is no circumstance where the “destination” of these kids is relevant.

What you “think” is one thing. The truth is another. The fact that the government responsible for the children doesn’t know is monstrously evil.

E. Scott Lloyd is an incredibly awful human being. Just the worst, a fucking Catholic zealot who should be so far away from anything to do with women and children.

So, I do want to add something to this, which I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. As much as I want to attribute this complete fuck-up to malice or anything particularly awful, I think there’s a high possibility a lot of these 1,500 kids missing are people who voluntarily left their sponsors to go to live with

... I have no idea. Sorry.

... I have no idea. Sorry.

Yeah, MS-13 basically only has a significant presence in SoCal, the DC Metro area, and some parts of the NYC suburbs. That’s pretty much it.

A few months back a local hip coffee shop accidentally gave me a latte made with oat milk instead of almond milk, and that was clear a bridge too far. I mean, who do these people think they are?

“We don’t normally do this, but we’ll try it with dairy.”

He’s always been a shithead. His parents are liberal, his family is liberal, and he went to a liberal high school in California filled with immigrants.

Approximately 50,924 people were apprehended by Customs and Border Patrol in April 2018, compared with 15,766 people the same month last year.

Here’s the problem; the “fundamentals of immigration reform” are massively affected by the larger narrative ongoing about immigration.

“MS-13 are shitheads but there are way worse shitheads out there so let’s spend our resources going after those guys.”

Official estimates of the number of MS-13 members in the United States ranges from around 6,000 to 10,000 members. By comparison, there are an estimated 50,000+ members of the Latin Kings. The entire city of Chicago alone has an estimated 150,000 gang members!

What is there to say when he is putting immigrant children from war torn countries (wars that we helped and benefit from) in what is essentially internment camps.
