How about universal healthcare? There’s an idea!

Well, that’s not the slightest bit of a surprise to anyone. Water, wet!

I use “IJ” in my texts so much that the word “in” occasionally autocorrects to IJ.

My use of the word “legit” is legit problematic.

Absolutely, which is why it’s so disheartening that people attacked Kate for her opinion. I get where she was coming from and I get where he was coming (heh) from. I thought they were both respectful.

I know!! And what frustrates me the most about it was how much it was just a stroke of luck and not, like, anything resembling how the legal process should actually work.

One of my most surprising victories was when my the ICE attorney at a bond hearing noticed the one line about former gang membership buried in a long I-213, and then quizzed my client on cross for 20 minutes about his (as it turned out, former) membership in a gang, because it turned out that the TA used to be part of

“Oh, I see you have a tattoo that says ‘I <3 NYC’ on your right arm and you’re from some place called “Brooklyn.” Alright that’s all the proof I need; you’re a goddamn filthy gang member and part of the dangerous Nueva Yucca Cartel.”

ICE’s hard-on for gang membership right now is complete and absolute bullshit, and I’m very glad to see that the judge saw through that with Mr. Medina. What’s also despicable is how much USCIS, ostensibly a separate agency which technically shouldn’t be following the whims of ICE, following the ICE agent’s botched

Yeah, every one of those grey schmucks who jumped all over you should take a hard look at their behavior. Sorry.

While I generally agree with you about dudes coming in and posting braggadocious sex things, I sort of feel Masshole James has been around long enough that I don’t even side-eye his lecherously gay ways anymore. Maybe I’m just desensitized.

The speed at which H street gentrified still amazes me. I moved to DC in 2011 and it was just starting then to go upscale; the area around the old Apollo theater (H St. Country Club etc...) had already gotten really hipster, but there were no high-rises or anything like that. Now, it’s covered in new condo

The “Juan Dreams of Rice and Chicken” episode from season 2 is actually my favorite of the entire show. It’s such a pitch-perfect satire of the Jiro/Chef’s Table genre.

I posted in response to another commenter, but as far as I can tell no ICE agent has ever been killed in the line of duty while carrying out immigration enforcement (one agent who was part of ICE’s anti-smuggling component was killed in Mexico by a cartel while on assignment).

I just tried to find how many ICE Agents have been killed in the line of duty here in the US. And as far as I can tell, the answer is zero. ZERO officers killed in the line of duty while carrying out their job in the USA; it’s never happened!

The headline says one thing and the article something completely different.

Hey dude! Long time no see.

I don’t know. Felt like I needed to scream at someone, I guess

Sigh. I should just dismiss BirdofPrey every time he drags his ignorant ass into Splinter. He’s proven time and time again he’s either the an incredibly ignorant contrarian or he’s just a troll and I’m playing myself.
