Yeah you don’t magically become addicted after one go (although there’s certainly a sense of “that was fun, could happily try that again!”).

I gasped as well. My husband laughed at me (I don’t react out loud much), and I just yelled, “That coked up bitch just broke her leg!”
Thank you for finding this, because it was driving me crazy when I watched the episode. I just ended up assuming it was a Craig Wedren original when I couldn’t find any info. The song was literally only put on YouTube today:
After some research, I’ve found the song they play over the jogging scene is called “I’ll Walk Alone” by a band called The Pills. Like last season’s crate-digger, The Jetzons, The Pills were a never-arrived pop-post-punk band from Arizona. I wonder if someone in the GLOW music department grew up there.
As the world’s biggest Zoya fan, I am upset.
Sam, Ruth, and Justine are adorable as this haphazardly thrown together family of weirdos. I want to see more interactions between the three of them.
well, Sam was in the best mood he’s been in all series. everythign is fucked up, the show is most certainly doomed, he understands why, and it’s not his fault. he is 100% in his comfort zone of failing spectacularly and getting to blame something external for it. it’s suddenly his dream gig.
This was Sam’s comeback episode.
So disappointed with Debbie’s bullshit in this episode. I don’t even fault her for taking Mark having a new girlfriend hard (though he is not worth it) or being mad at Ruth (though Ruth does not really deserve it anymore, if she ever did), because breakups are hard and feelings are feelings. But acting like she is too…
Yeah I really liked Justine asking Ruth to go to the screening because she knew Sam could use the support, and Justine’s low-key glee that Sam asked her to basically direct the episode. They have such an adorably sweet relationship this season, though neither is very emotionally well-equipped to express their feelings.
Debbie publicly asking Sam and Bash about the meeting with Tom Grant as a way of subtweeting Ruth; and Sam, misreading, telling her not to get back up on her feminist high horse, is a lovely piece of writing.
I think the DUI was actually back in March, but yeah, still pretty recent. WWE recently did a documentary special on Matt and Jeff Hardy detailing their struggles with addiction, and that DUI was included, as well as comments from Sting and Eric Bishoff regarding the Victory Road match. If you have the Network, it’s…
I totally thought that Debbie’s “Jeff Hardy moment” would come when she was swigging wine on her floor before her match with Tammè but I’m glad they saved it for later.
You’re in the AV Club? I was in the AV Club!
As a sidenote, that final moment was a brilliant hook as GLOW just lost their two workers. Their best performer and most effective heel just got her leg snapped and their big whitemeat hero did while being coked up.
I love the way this episode ramped up the tension. From Bash advocating a stiffer style, to Carmen being overworked, to Debbie’s breakdown, and even Sam deciding to be on the floor filming rather than in the booth where he could’ve been in someone’s ear to stop the match. My first thought when Debbie entered that ring…
he doesn’t suck more for moving on, but he sucks a ton for having his new gf call Debbie about the bed. that’s so low (both to Debbie and the new girl).
In episode s206, when Justine is wearing a Dead Milkmen shirt, it has the album name Metaphysical Graffiti on the back, despite it not being released until 1990. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is a magic time travelling girl, or something? Ha ha, boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
damn, Debbie. coke before a match with your ex-bff. they really hit the taking everything too far beat.
The build-up for the leg snap was so brilliantly build with all the little hits along the episode that would establish it starting from Debbie pulling the ‘Creative Control’ clause because it wouldn’t make sense for someone to beat her while she is one a winning streak. Which was missing the point of a winning streak…
