Why does every multiplayer game have to have infinite long term viability these days? Just make something that’s fun to play and people will play it, you don’t have to have season passes and a million overpriced cosmetics.

I played the game normally and never had a rupee shortage except in the first few hours. You don’t HAVE to grind for anything in this game. I think are conflating ‘have to grind’ with ‘I want everything in the game handed to me as quickly as possible with the least amount of effort’.

No one expected this game to be any good at all, but the depths of its awfulness seem to have surprised a great many people somehow.

I think people see the insane prices of used games pre-digital era and remember ‘Hey I used to own that game, now if I want to play it again I need to spend $130 on a used copy without a manual?’ and thus feel a need to collect physical copies. People who resell games are being taken advantage of. It’s crazy to me that people fight tooth and nail for the privilege of reselling their games for 1/5th what they paid.

I bought FF16 from my place of work because I get a discount and I’m already regretting it because there is no midnight release. You could get new copies of those legendary weapons by talking to the various town leaders and giving them some materials in BotW, and in TotK you can get all your unique items back by trading a plentiful resource to a vendor in the first town.
