I am absolutely going to be pedantic right here, because that’s a statue with some moving parts, not a mecha. I have to be pedantic because there are actual mecha in the game. Sans flaming dicks, of course.

I wonder what kind of garbage we’ll get when the fucking battle pass craze has finally run its course, if it ever does. The other option I guess is people have finally just accepted that companies will never stop begging them for just a little more money and battle passes will never go away.

The Water ‘dungeon’ took me about 10 minutes to complete. People are going to be disappointed if Nintendo has been calling these ‘full dungeons’ like older Zelda games.

You do not need to play BotW, although TotK is a direct sequel the references to the previous game are almost non-existent, with a quick runthrough at the beginning and a few characters recognizing Link as the Hero of Hyrule (and even more of them not recognizing him).

In what world was the 3DS considered a failure?

He had to have mainlined it, I have over 70 hours in and I’ve only completed one of the new dungeons and haven’t even left the main Hyrule areas yet (no Gerudo or Death Mountain). TotK makes BotW look like a tech demo.

Big yikes, I guess I should be thankful my MHW all-in FINALLY showed up at my house. All-ins were supposed to get them first but of course I was like the last one to receive it. And yeah, they hit us up for extra money during the shipping stage too, even though that was originally included in the KS.

How did you ever run out of weapons? 3 hours into the game I had so many weapons I had to have intense internal debates about which ones to leave behind after every fight.

I have neither fought for nor had a spot stolen from me in my entire life because I just park in the back, it seems like a weird thing to stress about in any way, shape, or form in order to avoid walking an extra couple of minutes.

Irrational fearfulness is how people get shot on doorsteps after ringing the wrong bell.

“...strategy games can seemingly never separate church from state...”

There’s nothing to C&D. They made an engine that interprets the original files into a VR ready version for Oculus Quest. They did the same thing with Quake and Doom3 over a year ago.

If you’re modding the game, you’re playing a copy of it on an emulator. That’s Nintendo’s issue. They see him promoting mods and to them that’s the same as promoting piracy.

If you played Necromancer and thought the power was in the skeleton minions and not corpse explosion, you played it wrong.

What’s this ‘was’ crap. He still is, right now, a racist piece of shit.

All the Wii U and 3DS games I bought are still available to me right now.

I’m sorry, but even as a deeply entrenched LGBTQIA+ supporter, the opening paragraphs of this blog post read like satire.

Nintendo is hitting him with DMCA because to use this mod you have to use an almost certainly pirated copy of BOTW on the Wii U emulator CEMA, not because he’s using Zelda stuff. Nintendo HATES people using emulators.

Someday, but not anytime soon, Kotaku writers will cop to the fact that the twittersphere isn’t a majority of anything and that no one gives a shit what people say there.

“Let me be clear: I love all of this so much.”
