I find myself in a similar position, except I haven't actually leapt into reading yet. I never got into comics as a kid, but I think I really could. I've read a few series in trade paperback recently, and reading some of these New 52 reviews has gotten me really intrigued. I just downloaded the Comixology app, so

Thank you for asking this question; I had the same one. And thank (the rest of) you for your answers.

I love that these reviews are consistently at the top of the most discussed list. Great conversation, guys.

Is first-run syndication still a thing?

I live in central Pennsylvania, where there is a lot of discussion about natural gas drilling. I laugh every time I see a headline with the word fracking in it.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus , in the movie they say it's overmining, and I always took that at face value. My impression was that they were taking every last scrap of useful minerals out of Praxis to support production of military equipment.

It's OK Emma, it's OK. That's what web proxies are for. I did a lot of hunting for one that worked with the old commenting system so I could comment from work. I don't know how well Disqus works or doesn't work with them because about the same time the new comments went into effect, they seem to have shut off the web

Reading Frakes and Sirtis at work without looking like a total basket case is always a problem.

It's not a great episode, but it certainly sticks with you. Until this week, I hadn't seen this episode in at least 5 years, but I remembered that dream sequence more clearly than any other image from the entire series (except All Good Things…, but I've seen that episode more times than any other).

Wif mint froshting!

Blaine gets the part of Tony. Kurt gets the part of Maria. Or, I don't know, Mario, I guess. I actually think that a production of West Side Story in which the romantic leads were gay could be an interesting twist on the story. I'm just not sure if it could be actually interesting within the context of Glee.

Ditto. This show had this one chance to hook me, because I usually work nights, but was covering a day shift this week. Normally I watch HIMYM online since I'm not home when it airs. This week I watched it on TV and kept the TV on for this show (well, most of this show, I bailed before the end). If it had been as good

I too wondered for a moment if we might see a slap. But I think there might only be one left, in which case I doubt we'll see it till the finale.

It has always seemed to me that that the best argument for the impossibility of traveling backwards in time is the fact that we've never met any time travelers. Of course, that could just mean that it is impossible to travel farther back in time than the invention of time travel. That scenario would be consistent with

I'm looking forward to reading Season 9. By the end of Season 8, everything had gotten so complex and convoluted that I barely had any idea what was going on. I suppose it didn't help that I wasn't reading it monthly, but only as the library got each trade paperback, so there was a long stretch between each

I am pretty sure a "branding session" like that happens at the start of every reality show, we've just never seen it before. That made it fascinating in its own way.

He was an adjunct, and the butt of many many jokes throughout the semester. The worst part about the class was that it was at 8 in the morning.
