The bit with Data and the poetry reminded me of a poetry class I took in college. The professor was a professional haiku poet (his name was Barry George, but because he showed up as "B.George" when we got our schedules at the beginning of the year, we referred to him exclusively as Boy George). At the beginning of one

Alex's comment was an insult. Hayley is a senior; Alex was just insinuating that she's too stupid to graduate.

Manos is actually the only MST3K I've ever seen. In college, we used to watch it a couple times a year.

I think that the only thing I've seen Spiner in besides Star Trek is Independence Day, but that movie supports my theory that he has only two acting settings: Data and Hammy Mad Man. As the former he's great, the latter, not so much.

I'm really glad that Pegasus is a well regarded episode. It's been a long time since I last saw it, but I have always remembered it as one of my favorites. I'm glad it holds up.

It's not just that. He's somehow hard to look at with the hair.

Absolutely yes. My wife and I watch this show so we can mock it mercilessly. Having more people to mock it with makes it even more fun. I have missed these recaps since they ended.

My son is 2 1/2, and he loves Doctor Who. Especially anything with Daleks. Granted, I don't think he really has any idea what's going on, but he will ask anyone and everyone to watch it with him: "Doctor Who is funny!"

Alright, I was debating rewatching The Aztecs for the review, but I think I'm going to. I watched it a couple months back, around the time the classic reviews started, because it was the only Hartnell serial on Amazon Prime. I was utterly bored by it. The sense I've been getting, though, is that people like it. So now

I like yours better.

I never really thought about it this way before, but I think you nailed it. I think keeping the Borg (incidentally, "borg" gets flagged by spell check, but "Borg" does not) the unstoppable/monolithic force it was originally presented as would have left the writers with only two real choices: someone committing

Was it a reveal, though? I swear I remember that having already been established at some point. The way I remember it, when I saw the movie in the theater and they mentioned the nearby aliens, I knew that they were talking about Vulcans.

I remember people complaining about the lens flares when that movie came out; I had noticed them, but not been distracted by them. I rewatched the movie a couple days ago, and all I could see was lens flares! They really were ridiculously overused.

I was 13 when I saw this movie in the theater, and I absolutely loved it. I recognize, now, that it has its flaws. But the thing that infuriated me even then: Beverly's blonde! WTF?

There is so much hate in these comments for movie 10, and I just don't remember it being that terrible. I saw it opening night in the theater and really enjoyed it then. And I have it on DVD and have watched it a few times since then. It's been a few years, so I'll watch it again when we get to it here (a while yet,

How odd would it have been if there had been a Star Trek spinoff that wasn't a Star Trek series?

Summer Glau dances. That overrides any negative thing that can be said about this episode.

I always confuse The Outrageous Okona and The Most Toys because, for some reason, whenever I hear "outrageous Okona" I picture Kivas Fajo.

It absolutely doesn't matter to this discussion, but it's "Bummer of a birthmark, Hal." I know this because I had a friend named Hal and we used to say that to him all the time. It probably drove him crazy, but it was his fault for buying a T-shirt that had the panel printed on it.

Yeah, I don't think I've spelled it any way but cat fud on any grocery list since the first time I saw that panel.
