Did anybody even watch TV that way 25 years ago? Watch every single episode of a show, I mean? Or did you just mean most weeks, or frequently throughout its run?

Warp Speed
It's always bothered me that the speed at which the Enterprise chooses to go places seems entirely arbitrary. For instance, at one point in The Chase, they warp off somewhere at, I think, warp 5, and they say it will take 4 days. But then they're fretting over being late to the negotiations they are due at.…
That's the point though, HI, to take something really simple and then improvise around the basic melody. It's something I remember doing as a beginning violin student.
If you ask Google to translate "piege de christal" the answer it returns is "Die Hard."
I had not seen any Classic Who until these writeups started (thank you for that, by the way; I only started watching the new incarnation a few months ago and was wondering how best to go about watching the old stuff, so this has been great); that in mind, I'd like to put my vote in for the episodes available on Amazon…
I had to click away from the page and wait for the customers to go away before finishing this post so I didn't bust out laughing with a bunch of people standing around.
The scene with the Troicake is one of the strongest visual memories I have of Star Trek TNG from watching it as a kid. Until someone mentioned it a few weeks ago, I could not, for the life of me, remember what episode it was from, or what it had to do with anything.
I had the same problem in middle school. In 6th grade, we had to do "research reports" throughout the year. They could be on any topic, you just had to thoroughly (for an 11 year old) research it, then present the topic to the class with a visual display. One of mine was on Star Trek. I even made some cardboard…
Worf as Kirk
I read the whole review wondering if Zack would bring up the fact that Part 2 feels a lot like the many many TOS episodes where Kirk shows up to a planet that's functioning perfectly well, decides it isn't in line with what is "right," then imposes his will (only this time it's "you're not behaving like…
No Wonder Geordi Has a Hard Time Picking up Chicks
Did you see the way his visor dug into her forehead when they kissed? That can't be a good first impression.
See, this what I was talking about in my own comment. Brilliant as usual. Please be on Twitter, Frakes.
My Thanks to Everyone Involved
I mostly just wanted to say that, while I don't post much here, I do read all several hundred comments every week (at least all of them that are up by late Thursday night or Friday afternoon, depending on when I have the time), and I have a blast doing it every time. I am repeatedly awed…
This is Just a Comment
This comment is mostly just a test of whether I am able to post a comment from here, and I figured this would be an inoffensive place to do it.
Keiko ended up a little too young…
…but there is a picture in my house of my wife at about 16 years old. It gives me very confusing feelings.
Dorian Gray
No mention of the fact that the ship that Alkar beams over from is actually called the Dorian?
I went to two conventions when I was 12 or 13. James Doohan was the sole guest at one of them. Somewhere I have a Polaroid of me standing next to him while he sits behind a table and his signature on his ST:TNG CCG card. From the same convention, a Polaroid of me sitting in Picard's chair, surrounded by life-sized…
I just wanted to say that between this thread and the Frakes thread farther up I was laughing so hard that there were tears in my eyes and I was having trouble breathing.
It's always fun to see things that are worth a lot, but I much prefer the people who are bowled over when they find out something is worth 5 or 10k, to the people who just sort of half smile when their item is worth $50,000.
It was Samaritan Snare.
It occurred to me today…
…that if Joss Wedon had been running TNG, Nurse Agawa would have met an untimely end somewhere along the way.
