Huh? Democrats in Maryland get plenty of support from white voters. It’s not like the Deep South, where partisan affiliation is almost entirely correlated with race.
That’s the optimistic perspective, but, uh...Shanahan’s first year involved trying to get acclimated to a first-year head coach, an offensive line that largely consisted of new players, a washed-up Roddy White, a useless Leonard Hankerson, and it was a system Matt Ryan had never seen before. Sarkisian inherited what…
You can’t audible at the line; you have to make sure he’s turned and facing you so he can read your lips.
I do think the Eagles’ defense is underrated, but yeah, his playcalling was a disgrace. Fucking shovel pass to a deaf third-string fullback what the hell
And he was only the offensive *coordinator* for Alabama for one game! The rest of that season, he was just one of multiple offensive *analysts*!
It’s harder to time and jump for a catch than people realize; I suspect him getting knocked down threw off his timing just that little but critical bit. I don’t blame him for not coming up with that catch (especially since he and Tevin Coleman were the only sources of offense today).
His play-calling throughout the game, and especially in on that final series, was inexcusably bad. A back with 79 yards and a back with 7 yards ended up with the same number of carries. He called a shovel pass to a legally deaf third-string fullback.
Pretty much all of that production was in the second half. Foles sucked in the first half but the Eagles’ running backs were gashing the Falcons, so they changed up their defensive scheme to take away the run game, but that in turn opened up a bunch of easy looks and throws for Foles.
Eh, I’m a Falcons fan and absolutely thought the Eagles had a decent chance to win. I mean, last season the Eagles held the astronomically better 2016 offense to just 15 points! Their current squad just matches up really well against this team. And I really hate this type of thinking that focuses all attention the…
He wrote a book called “Now I Can Die In Peace” all the way back in 2004/2005. It’s now 2018.
Even then, if Alford just catches this ball for an interception instead of deflecting it into the air for edelman...

I guess, but when Obama threw out the first pitch at the 2009 MLB All-Star Game in St. Louis—a city that itself is heavily Democratic but whose baseball games draw a lot of conservative fans from suburban and exurban areas—there were also audible cheers alongside some boos.
Yes, but Athens and Ann Arbor are relatively small towns (my definition is less than 200,000 in population) that barely have more people than the capacity of their stadiums. A large portion of crowds at Georgia and Michigan games are people from across the state arriving on a sort of pilgrimage. But Atlanta and…
I saw that incident in Baltimore and was like “...what the hell? Who are these people? Are Ravens’ ticket-buyers all from rural Maryland and they make lengthy pilgrimages on Sundays? Do liberals/moderates in Baltimore and Baltimore County just not attend games in person, allowing urban/suburban republicans in…
This is a curious exercise in where most attendees of sports games are from. Athens and Atlanta overwhelmingly voted against him in 2016, and he collapsed in the traditionally conservative suburbs north of Atlanta, and I suspect there’ll also be plenty of liberal ex-pat UGA fans in attendance. These people all hate…
The Deadspin staff proposes to eliminate programs that literally help keep our poorest and most vulnerable people alive? Goes out of its way to defend Nazis?
Yes, that’s precisely why we deserve sympathy. You think YOU’RE mad at the team? The feeling’s a million times as intense for us.
