Ok, I have a break. So, let's dive in. :)

Ascension wasn't written by Carter, it was written by Paul Brown. That's why I didn't list it, or One Breath. Now, I happen to like both. I'm a big fan of these episodes. And I don't care that Mulder wasn't immediately given an explanation for Scully's abduction. And, if I go with your theory that was what was being

Sure - but even though we didn't see it, Mulder and Scully were rehired. And that means they had to go through recertification. Firearms and hand-to-hand. Amusingly, no one said a d*mn thing when Scully stripped dude's gun in Home Again. That was impressive too, for a woman who has spent the last 14 years on the run

I really want to answer this, but only with the care it deserves. And I'm in class pretty much all day today. I got done with my first class 30 minutes ago, have some reading to do before my 2:15p class, which lasts til 5pm, and more reading to do for my 6:45p class that ends at 9:50p. Please don't think I'm ignoring

Ok, so I'm working this out in my head canon. And here's what I've come up with:

I admit, I love Reyes. I struggled (oops) with her in my first watch of the series, but as I watched it over and over again with people I introduced the series to (at last count, I'm on my fifth and sixth with two friends right now) I really liked her. I do wish she'd always been portrayed as she was in The Truth,

Not everyone shares that opinion. Good to great mythology episodes by Carter:

This. Well, mostly. Carter is not a horrible writer. He's written great episodes. He's written a lot of experimental episodes, too, which have either turned out awesome (Triangle) or WTF (Fight Club). I'm not even going to go so far as to say he made bad directing choices, here, so much as experimental ones. And I

War of the Coprophages is awesome! It's so funny, I forget to be freaked out by crawling cockroaches.

I'd be happy with an episode devoted to it, particularly after the threads we've been given. And I'm not disagreeing with the statement that Glen Morgan beat us over the head with the theme of the episode in relation to William. I like to think that a good majority of viewers would have gotten it anyway.

I'm having a really hard time parsing this. My use of the word brilliant was all about David Duchovny's execution of Mulder tripping balls. It wasn't about the scene itself or the episode. So, what gives?

Very well said.

Is there a link for that? I've been searching The X-Files news every which way and can't find anything. I know he once said that after Season 7, when Duchovny was on his way out, but more recently all I've heard from him in interviews is that The X-Files is Mulder and Scully.

I don't know. My older brother is adopted and his mom felt pains about it for nearly 16 years before sending a message through the lawyers to our parents.

Okay. I doubt anything I say is going to dissuade you from that position, and I wouldn't want to invalidate your response. That's not how I see it, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The fact that some were unclear just tells me they don't understand what happens to suicide bombers. Hardly Carter's fault.

Oh! No, that's not how I read your comment, my apologies. I thought you were talking about the conversation between me and Waltmobile. As for authorial intent, I know you are correct. However, my personal view is that it ought to be a factor.

Yep. We got that. That's why both of us are trying to see the other's point of view.

I think I've got a more clear way to phrase what I've been trying to say:

Planet 9 from Outer Space. 42 times.
