I think Ewan McGregor especially did an INCREDIBLE job. His acting in the end of ROTS was award-worthy to me. His speech to Anakin in ROTS about them being brothers, and leaving the Force in darkness still gives me chills.

Absolutely! Criticism is not only fine by me, it’s needed to make some creators better. Constructive criticism can do SCADS to help a creator make better products...but the backlash to the prequels has been over the top from day one and hasn’t stopped since, and I can fully understand how that would grind the man down

“How about appreciating the things he created that you DO like instead of lashing out at him for trying to give you more and not giving you exactly what you wanted.”

Point me at him blaming his audience please.

You understand the distinction between responding to shitty comments and making them yes? Because it really seems like you don’t. If people feel okay making shitty comments, I’ll make comments to that degree too (I have zero issue, but then I’m fighting the good fight form the high ground, those people are decidedly

Indeed. I see the whole “he’s a money grubber and just wante dot fill his coiffers more” arguemtn a lot, and it just shows me no one even remotely understands. GL had SCADS of money from the OT Merchandising deal, and PAID for the prequels himself.

I agree with everything you said. I have my issues with some portions of the prequels...but I still find a LOT to enjoy in them, and feel that people like Ewan and Sam Jackson, and a few others make their parts sing. And we also have the Clone Wars series which is excellent.

See, but why are we victim blaming him (for lack of a better phrase)? Why should he NEED to be immune? How about we criticise his films without feelign the need to go baseline asshole at him for a decade to achieve that? Right? The prequels aren’t just criticised...he’s dragged through the dirt with them, for no

Oooooo, clever. Yes, my own words against me. Very Clever.

I have lots of criticism for the prequels...small bits of TPM, and ROTS are bad, and a huge portion of AOTC is bad. Criticism isn’t the issue...it’s the extended campaign by those who grew up with SW who conitune to be butthurt over a decade later.

No, you’re reading way too much into it for starters. For second, I literally have no sympathy for fans who feel okay to slam a creator for a film he made they didn’t like. Enjoy your entitlement.

Your reaction to his statement of feelings after more than a decade of insults and over the top shitflinging aimed his way is to say “George Lucas got his wittle feels hurt, you guys.”

There is a difference between criticism, and the 15 year long butthurt fandom that loves to rip GL to shreds every time they can...because they didn’t like his movies. If you really don’t see the irony of that, I can’t help you...but if the prequels are offensive enough to you that you need to slam them this hard

I’ve been up and down these comments, and I literally see people slavering to slam GL at any given opportunity...it’s baffling and a little revealing that so many people feel perfectly okay crapping on a creator because they didn’t like his art/product...like what world are we living in where this is considered

He wasn’t saying that SW prequels were experimental. He was saying that’s what he’d like to do NOW.

Why is it that when a guy literally expresses the fact that the response and HARSH criticism to his prequels MADE HIM FEEL....so many of your feel the need to defend your criticism as if he’s accused you of something. He’s not. There WAS harsh criticsim (and calls for him “raping their childhood”)...and this was just

He’s not blaming anyone...your English comprehension level is low.

Oh look butthurt fans who think it’s okay to slam the creator of their fandom into the dirt because they didn’t like what he put on screen. Gods, you people make me sick.

Ewan has to get in people’s faces about it now because everyone is so rough on the prequels...he enjoyed himself IMMENSELY.
