Because you don’t get that kind of Service with the Fiero.

Why is there what appears to be a jackstand under the front axle?

In terms of rust, the Millenia is far less susceptible than other Mazdas. It and its smaller brother, the Eunos 500 have 95% galvanised body panels according to Mazda.

Why should they have cared? André Citroën died in 1935. Citroën was one of the few european manufacturers back then capable of mass-producing vehicles, and that is all that mattered to them.

They are specialty vehicles, but on the business side they are like any other car Toyota makes. You can find used first and second gens for reasonable money, too.

The Maxima still exists because, unlike the Altima, the Maxima name carries Street cred.

If only they had connected some air lines to the spare wheel.

If my username is any indication, owned a 1995 Euro Spec QX (technically an I30/Cefiro). Was a base model 2.0L (but still a V6), with 140hp it was by no means fast but thanks to reasonably light weight and a close ratio 5-speed manual it never felt underpowered and still averaged 25-30mpg. Rock solid straight line

See, thats literally what the current Camry is.

Its neither here nor there. Making the Crown FWD would not improve it in the slightest. It wouldn’t be any worse, but it wont gain anything of note either.

I don’t get your point. There are many large RWD cars with less than 200hp, past and present. Base model 5-Series or E-Class for instance. These occupy a similar market niche as the Crown, at least in their home country, which is to say they are ubiquitous in Fleet operations.

Louis Renault was once quoted as saying “As long as I live, the radiator shall be mounted behind the engine”, which may or may not be true, but I think that pure aesthetic preference was a larger factor in Renault sticking to that formula as long as it did. The 40CV was a pretty high end automobile, it featured things

I don’t want to start a needless discussion, but let me just point out that the Avantime was a wonderful piece of pointlessness. Sure there was no realistic business case for it but what is not luxurious about a rolling box with zero pretentions for sportiness and vast, airy cabin appointed in leather? It’s decadent.

The Avantime was a 3rd gen Espace underneath, so already paid for. FYI the 1st-3rd generation Espace were also body on frame with plastic body panels (sort of like a Corvette) so I suppose engineering the coupe body was also fairly straightforward and not terribly expensive.

A head of state has to ride in the biggest, best and most prestigious chariot available. Been that way for thousands of years. Translated into Jalop that means you either drive the best car your country produces, or, alternatively if your country does not have a major automotive industry, either American or a Benz.

If I had to pay $50 per fill-up I’d buy a V8 immediately. Sincerely, someone from Europe who is used to paying €80+ for refueling bi-weekly.

My old Maxima sounded pretty good for a VQ.

Last time I checked GM still sell the K5 Blazer but with four doors and a different name.
