E-Class Mercedes are usually up there, thanks to their popularity as Taxi cabs and the V8-ness of the AMG. Current model ranges from 136hp in the E200 CDI (available in brown, Wagon and manual) to 585hp in the E63 AMG S. That’s a 449hp disparity.
Do you mean the 325 and 525e from the mid 80s? Those had a 4500rpm redline that went against the rev-happy nature of other BMW engines at the time, however they had more torque than the normal 325 and 525i and got much better fuel economy.
The FWD part I don’t care about, the suspension setup is basically the same as a MINI anyway, what really matters is the fact they put a V6 under the bonnet.
This.
The did actually take out that V8 lump and transmission from the Continental to give the Ranchero a slight hope of survival. I believe this can be seen in a few frames as well.
Meanwhile, 250,000$ cheaper...
Something something cooling of brakes.
Of course we can. We’re awesome. However somebody stupid decided that the Dollar should be worth actual money for some reason, making the whole importing business a lot more expensive than it was just ten years ago. And nobody has time to earn that money because we have to deal with half of Syria and just about the…
I should point out that Bild am Sonntag is not exactly known for being a particularly reliable source of information.
So they are delaying production. Does this mean that they are fixing some issues before they sell the cars to the customers for once?
It can be argued that MB was always everything to everyone. Want a shitty 50hp diesel that’ll never reach 60 but is dirt cheap to run? The W114s are over there. Want something to show off the fact that you are dictator of a small island in the pacific? W100 it is. A Lorry? How about a Kurzhauber? A more car-like…
Remember kids, if you want a Porsche with a clean Diesel, there is only one option.
Chrysler seemed to do fairly well for american designed cars during the 90s and early 2000s.
Those damn communists won after all.
Was it really necessary to make the bonnet this long? I know that a long bonnet is something of an ideal, but there is a limit to that. Unless this has a 12-rotor engine (I’ll take two), it just ruins an otherwise rather lovely design.
Seriously, a Wartburg? Aside from the fact that the Eisenach plant is now owned by GM and vomiting out similarly horrible Corsas (I even remember some rumors about a Wartburg revival as an ultra-cheap brand for emerging markets and shit), I always thought that a car made by one of the millions of prehistoric car…
Unless “engine rebuild” refers to a Subaru EZ30 swap, CP
GTi just stands for Gran Turismo Injection and was first used on a Maserati, but due to the enormous success of the Golf GTI it has become synonymous with hot hatchbacks.
At least it is not a 500.
