The ball was over the ass.

No. And I have no skin in this game.

The ball was not.

That angle is not conclusive. There is a TON of visual compression in that shot. No way to be sure he stepped out.

Doesn’t matter how powerful the camera is if it’s not in the right spot.

Keep telling yourself that.

Those shouldn’t have been the first grey hairs that freaked you out.

Yeah, but he was born in Arizona.

Could they put that kicking equipment any closer? Geez.

Meh. The Cubs were the best story in baseball - as long as they’d never won the World Series. Their futility was the story! Now that they’ve won one, no one will really care about them anymore. Kind of like the Red Sox. (Except for their respective fans, of course.)

Wait. What????

Your complete lack of understanding of the point of my comment is breathtaking.

No. We must be outraged at everything.

Yes, but it gives the smug city-dwellers a chance to express their moral superiority.

Maybe it’s an attempt at irony, viciously mocking their opponent’s already outdated/insensitive/offensive name: “Indians”?

Great find. The greatest set of blatant holds I’ve ever seen on one play!

Beat me to it. Hold like crazy. Why not?

No. A-Gonz saw the throw heading his way when he was still very close to the bag. He could have slid back into second safely instead of running to third base — if he had had the presence of mind to do so.

Mickey Mantle actually made a very similar decision in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series.

If AR steps on 2nd base after Russell catches the ball at 2nd base, AR is safe (as long as Russell doesn’t tag AR’s body).

Thanks for clarifying my point, which I seem to not have made well enough for cwolf20!
