This article seems to presuppose, without evidence, that much of the book reading (and even reviewing) public knows a lot of information about how Hanya Yanagihara lives her day-to-day life.

This thought process is based on a desire to hear that everyone who got COVID deserved it, and that you are better and safer and more moral than them, so it couldn’t possibly happen to you. It’s called the “just world fallacy.”

My issue is that I have zero confidence that prison will make this guy any less of a predator, and is highly likely to make him even more of a danger to society.

Sure there are a few hyper-vigilant vegans, but there is a huge number of people who would like a plant-based alternative but are okay with the fact that it may have been cooked in the same oil or on the same surface as meat.
