The STs sold in pretty healthy numbers, all things considered. It’s the base cars that didn’t sell “Enough”. After all, you can’t have the STs without the base model. And I guess I contributed to that too seeing as I bought two of them brand new. First a Fiesta and then a Focus.

Wait, you say the Fiesta ST isn’t reliable but post a GTI? The car best known for instantly shitting all its electrics at the exact point the warranty ends? I mean, the abarth will also burst into flames if you look at it wrong but I have never seen reliable GTIs after 60k miles.

An FZ-07 (or any of the modern naked 650cc twins) will walk all over the street rod. It has decent curb appeal but the exhaust is routed poorly, the tank shape and air intake is for cruiser pegs, not the mid mounted pegs that it comes with, and it’s a couple grand more than the competition. If you like yours, then I

DIS. AIN’T. OVAH!

I know some people go to Branson, Missouri but I was always a fan of Bronson, Missouri!

That doesn’t answer the question of why you do it. You say that you do, I just don’t see what advantage you gain by doing that. My car can stay warm or cold if I run into a place for a short stop. I feel like all you accomplish is wasting gas. And consider either a) rolling down your windows a bit and leaving some

I understand a literal minute but what are you so against that you don’t want to turn your car off for 10 minutes? It is either a twist of a key or a button press. And where I live, cops are now ticketing people for doing that due to an increase in car theft.

No key pad, but the car will not lock if the keys are in the car.

If you somehow accidentally at speed put the keys in an RF shielded pocket, all modern cars would still allow you ample time to pull over and ample warnings that it can’t detect the key.

I would bet plenty of people have gone outside to idle their car only to forget and accidentally have it running for half an hour or more. You really only need about 5 minutes in a modern car to get the heater turned on. And if you want, you could adjust it. But no, this doesn’t ruin it for people who want to warm up

Have a 2017 Ford. I can not fathom how you can drive off without the keys in the car. Or forget to turn the car off. But I found that out while getting something from the trunk. Also - the message box for “Engine is on” is in yellow but the “SMART KEY IS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE!!!!” is nice and bright red.

My Ford beeps incessantly and bright red messages pop up on my screen if I so much as go out to my trunk with the keys in my pocket and the engine is on. If you ignore those for 4 minutes you have the will of a monk to not go crazy.

Why do you need to idle it for more than 5 minutes? And you can idle it all you want - just let the car know you’re nearby.

I don’t often need more than 5 minutes of idling to get it warm....

I love no longer needing to turn the key to start my car. Fight me.

I see it being useful for stores/places that don’t want a bulky refrigeration unit. Especially for the power and weight costs. I would like to see what the numbers look like since you aren’t spending all that energy keeping these cool when not needed and they don’t require dozens or hundreds of pounds of extra weight

If they were smart, they’d make the inner “can” removeable and the holder recycleable too. It’d save money in the long run if they could just clean and recharge the liner and insert a can.

It will still blow a “mix” but if you adjust the temperature or settings the gears would grind until it found a “sweet spot” again.

Yes. Very common. It is amazing Ford hasn’t issued a TSB or a recall over it.

Sweet jesus, these things got CHEAP. I traded my FiST in for a FoST last year and the trade-in value was 12k at the dealr even with a busted blend door actuator and 62k miles....I didn’t buy it for resale value though. Definitely was a great little car. Touch high for the market here so it’s a very tenuous NP from me,
