No sane person has a problem with Israel’s right to exist. Most of us just have a problem with Israel’s opinion that Palestine shouldn’t exist

I’m sure the American distributors are hoping they have another “The Raid” on their hands, and while I think this is a much lesser film, it delivers on being over-the-top violent and bloody, and is enjoyable to see with a crowd.

I just thought to myself “this seems incredibly well written, who is this” and DEAR HEAVEN CAN IT BE! Please, please, stay with us Ignatiy!

It is October 2019. I am reading a news story about how “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is bad. They say there is a new version by John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.

OK, I don’t usually post in meme form, but I came across this recently...and yeah, it’s bang on:

Call me naïve, but I’m always stunned when the wise course of action in a given situation is to simply shut the fuck up and people choose not to. Like, absolutely no one was out here saying “gee, I wonder what Sharon Stone thinks about Kevin Spacey” and yet she went out of her way to broadcast her idiot thoughts about

“Looking for a lawyer in my case and a new manager. I need leftists that understand critical thinking, power dynamics of social caste systems, and has a strong spine of moral integrity”

I wish you luck in your Hollywood career.

Hahaha I didn’t realize, but that kinda would make more sense than an adult doing it.

Let me save everyone a google:

people REALLY need to realize avatar connects with normal people who have healthy relationships with art, which is exactly why so many freaks who don’t are turned off by its success and don’t see it as authentic.

Seems like the perfect movie to see in a theater that’s actively being hotboxed.

Or at least hit 100. I know it’s arbitrary, but when cool people are close to that age it is even sadder that they don’t hit it. Like I doubt Jimmy Carter will make it either.

My favorite Roger Corman story is a simple one. And a fairly recent one.

Roger Corman made a movie in 1954 called The Fast and the Furious. When they settled on that title for the Vin Diesel movie, Corman and Universal worked out a deal; Corman would license the rights to the title to Universal if he was given access

I remember reading, and I don’t remember if these were Corman’s words or the words of one of the many creators he mentored, but it said that although the days were often long and the pay was usually short, he promised, and followed through on, giving everybody a days work, food on the set, a job in front of the camera

I got the news Roger had passed from a friend and fellow film nerd. It was around 1:30am at the exact moment I was going to go upstairs and get to bed. Instead, I put on the MST3K episode “Teenage Caveman.” I know Roger had a contentious relationship with that show, but that episode was the first time I saw a Roger

The best comment I’ve seen anybody make about this is “Roger Corman’s funeral will be on time, under budget, and have enough extra footage for three more funerals.”

I remember reading an interview with Ron Howard where apparently Corman told him on the set of Grand Theft Auto something to the effect of, “If you do a good job, you’ll never have to work for me again.”

The first time I saw this image was on my Facebook feed, and I did think it was AI generated for a hot second.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Sort of like anyone I know who was declared themselves as ‘hating drama’ have been the most insufferably dramatic people I’ve ever known.
