I'm amazed at how many American reviewers jump to the conclusion that Reinhardt is the main character because she's in both "series." Prey was written as a one-off, but was so successful that another adventure was created. I'm relieved that Kate seems to understand this.

I watch it for the fleeting glimpses of Dave Foley.

It's nice to see a John Simm project made available to American audiences. Prey on BBC America starting this Thursday, and 14 Hour Party People on Hulu.

This proves just how low the attractiveness bar is for men. My rule is, how would I react to this person if they were a stranger who started chatting me up in a bar.

But he's so goddamn ugly. I mean, we're talking a 2 (3 if I'm high) vs. at least an 8 (10 in the Midwest).

Who does he think he's fooling with these two different jobs over the course of his childhood, including teenage years?

I was't thrilled when he badgered Baxter to testify. He and the cop ganged up on her. So not cool.

Goddamn. Everywhere I turn it's Armisen, Armisen, Armisen. When is everyone going to get as sick of him as I am?

There are so few heroic roles for women of any color.

Anachronism alert: "Do lunch" became a popular phrase in the '80s.

"Only" white women. Don't know if you've noticed, but entertainment programs are more and more rolling two "minorities" into one: black women, hispanic women, gay women, etc. It's a way to justify all the white men who overpopulate the entertainment media.

Still …

Seems like a writer's got a thing for the name Debra, used tonight in the party invite sketch and the unfamiliar Christmas song (my new ringtone) a few weeks ago.

John Simm.
