Ah yes, but of course it's typically ambiguous: maybe the Giant meant that those two could be "taken care of" through the same method.
Nice, I hadn't thought of that. His scene was certainly one of the most frightening of these 5 hours.
As I pointed out below, without the machine and/or the scientists to run it, the blabbing 98%-ers would either be considered mad or would attract a cult-like following. (Sound familiar?)
It was called "The Road."
As with split infinitives and dangling participles, a lot that we learned in junior high school English turned out to be oversimplifications that don't allow for how a lot of real world communication and art actually work.
It's the "Leftovers" Season 1 of internet posts.
Those shots of (what I presume to be) the Australian countryside were beautiful.
Yeah, I've heard about that… Personally, I've never been on Facebook. I got as far as Friendster, and after reconnecting with old friends briefly didn't actually result in any lasting deep connections, I refused to wade any further into the social media fray.
To some extent… Although I have to admit that, with the advent of internet communication, I have found myself conversing with people with beliefs I don't share, something I rarely did in olden days.
I too agree that this show will join the small pantheon of "Best TV Shows Ever" (from "I Love Lucy" and "The Twilight Zone" to "All in the Family" and "M.A.S.H." to "Twin Peaks" and "Seinfeld" to "The Sopranos" and "The Wire" and "Deadwood" and "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad").
Plus, who's to say that there haven't been a trickle of people reintegrating to the known world from the 2% one, just as just a few dozen had been secretly leaving the 98% one for that one? Some might keep on the lowdown and some might blab and be treated as madmen or have cults built around them, etc.
It doesn't matter; like new dreams, it reset every time he went there.
Good call. Although I would point out that all that matters is Kevin's saying, "I believe you."
Then who are all those other characters on "Fargo" interacting with?
In the end, I don't think any of these instances of "reclaiming" (see also: the Asian-American rock band with a controversial name court case) have turned out that well. Something that benefits just one faction of society perpetuates… the splitting of society into factions.
It's all about context and intent, isn't it. I'm a man and I wrote for the feminist magazine "Bitch" for many years.
I think he would have mentioned on Twitter if that had happened:
Not so.
It really is about who the words are pointing toward.
