That scene finally made something click (which I'm sure others elsewhere have already pointed out): Catatonic Cooper reminds me of Edward Scissorhands.

De nada ;)
Internal rhymes are underrated! (Especially when it comes to internal bodily issues!)
Yes, good call: mirror images, with innocent man contending with an unrelenting Kafka-esque authority figure, in one case, and, in the other, an innocent authority figure contending with a Kafka-esque omnipotent villain.
"The most photographed barn in American" — "People are taking photographs… of taking photographs" — Really, man?! White Noise is one of the most brilliant, enjoyable American novels of the last 40 years. I've read it at least 5 times. After I first read it, I bought 3 copies to mail to friends. Is it really about…
"Last week"? What are they filming Season 4 already? I would have thought they'd have had all of Season 3 in the Can by now…
I agree it's confusing.
I don't remember, but the question came up in the Talkbacks for several earlier episodes and people had explanations then.
I hope not. Just emphasizing the importance of plain old friendship is a theme that seldom gets its due.
Yes.
Or the ladder he climbed in the black and white sequence with the eyeless woman.
I also know little about the tech industry and can follow the show just fine. My problem is I wish they allowed for more topics in the storylines besides: tech, business, and roommate issues. That's what makes it feel overly "inside baseball" and repetitive.
I predict: In the series finale, the characters explicitly, baldly state that the show takes place in Canada (when it's not jaunting off to Sardinia or a Mexican prison), and tvs across the world crack in half.
This show is way too inside baseball and repetitive — I stopped watching after Season 1, though I catch a scene here and there as I'm flipping through HBO.
The final step will be when they portray someone "giving" their story (Gloria's stepdad in another flashback?) to someone else to continue telling indefinitely.
Harry Houdini guest stars, or GTFO!
Ok, I think I read more than half the comments here and I didn't see anybody talk about what the deputy says to Gloria in the "Next On." Something like, "I heard about that case. It's got a lot of twists." He's GOT to be talking about Season 1 or 2, right, but which?
Great, thorough rundown! I will point out though that they couldn't have known about Nora Durst's uphill trip to the goat, since that was filming in secret nearly simultaneously (and I give Carrie Coon credit for keeping her mouth shut). Same with "American Gods," although the original material's been out there a…
I tried to comment there once and my comment was "in moderation" so long that I never went back.
That's how most "prestige" shows have been for a decade or more. (See: last week's "Leftovers" and, a couple months back, "Girls").
