For everyone making snarky comments about a 46-year-old student driver, I taught a mother staying at a domestic violence shelter how to drive. She moved here from Turkey, where she had driven a little bit ~20 years ago. Her husband had not allowed her to drive here.
DMV was in CT.
My friend’s son backed directly into the County Clerk’s car immediately upon starting his driving test. “We’re done here, pull back into the parking spot.”
She’s taking a driving test. That would indicate she did not formerly know how to drive.
We’re talking about a 46 year old student driver.
The operation was a success but the patient died.
That is the fastest that any DMV employee has ever moved.
They are used to raise speed limits, as well. Not by much, but enough to improve flow, if necessary and if the roads and area allow it.
Those of us of a certain age will remember that every gas station, (gas station!), had these things. Driving over them would result in a “ding-ding’, which would cause an “attendant” to come out, ask you what grade of gasoline and how much, (“ five bucks, regular”), clean your windshield and check your oil.
Turns out catering to bigots is a winning strategy. You get their undying loyalty, and most of the other side won’t care.
It’s amazing how many “woke” people don’t care about gay rights when they’re being asked to sacrifice something as minor as a fast food chain. Fuck everyone who claims to support gays and eats at Chick-fil-a or supports women but shops at Hobby Lobby.
It’s not just opinions. When I give people money, and they in turn give that money to causes I vehemently oppose, I’m knowingly giving money to those causes. I’m not okay with that.
My sentiments exactly. It would take a pretty magnanimous (and very public) retraction of their past donations to hate groups before I’d even consider setting foot in a Chick-fil-A again. I know damn well they’re not going to lose any sleep/market share over not getting my business, but just as what they do with their…
The delicious taste of homophobia.
Do you consider donating millions of dollars to anti-LGBT organizations to be a wild overreaction? You’re free to eat there or not as you please, but for me personally I have no desire to give their business any of my money (not that they need it) because of the actions they’ve already taken.
Just because this singular statement that Sinclair forced its broadcasters to record and air “does not sink to the level of propaganda” does not mean that it is not, by and large, a statement to let slide the constant propaganda that Sinclair forces on networks it owns.
It normalizes a stance against other news…
I figure that the average demographic that still actually watches local news, as opposed to getting their information online, also watches Fox anyway.
I sleep well at night knowing I won’t have to explain to my grandkids someday that I was one of the good Germans.
I would like to shake the hand of the person or entity who set it ablaze in the first place.
