Ignoring for a second that this issue is only a very small part of what SI does......have you ever heard of a little thing called “the internet”?

Now playing

Congrats to her, but how is this still a thing?

Man, something is wrong with you. I’m in my 60s, and I know it’s JUST FUN.

Sometimes a polka is just a polka.

It doesn’t need to MEAN anything. Sometimes it’s better that there not BE a point.

brb, gonna go do some progress

Amen. While I applaud their progressive stance on trans people, there is nothing “creative” or “dignified” about the SI swimsuit issue.

I remember in the 80's, my sister told me there was a transgender Playboy model. I swear she showed me a blurb in Enquirer about it. Am I nuts?

I read your whole comment, like, twice. And I’m probably in the same age range as you (I’m essentially mid-40's) and grew up with Weird Al in the 80's-90's.

It it a funny thing, though, praising them for efforts to be more progressive with a specific issue of the magazine that is fundamentally concerned with the objectification and dehumanization women.  I’ll be inclined to give them credit when their progressivism finally leads them to obvious and inevitable conclusion

what a sad life she had.  how she maintained any sort of faith in god is beyond me.

I think the intended meaning of “post-A24" is post the advent of A24 and its style of psychological horror. It hasn’t gone away, but has solidified into a genre that one can recognize even if it (like this movie) isn’t actually from that label.

1) That time I told off a really awful customer.

“spend your life indoors encased in bubble wrap”

That’s how Rosemary Kennedy managed to live well into her 80s.

I used to go canoeing in Quebec with my husband and child. We always wore our life jackets and registered with the Reserve officials so they would know where we were going and what day we expected to return, but it was still so remote that we might travel 5-6 days without seeing anyone else, well outside the range of

This was a fun medley by the talented Weird Al. I know he has clever original music but his parodies ie Word Crimes” are still top notch.

If you’re a Kennedy the only thing you can do is spend your life indoors encased in bubble wrap, and hope for the best.

Yankovic, as you might be able to tell from the photo at the top of this article, is a L-M-M fan

Yikes, this is super sad. The image of her son asleep alone on the pontoon boat is heartbreaking. I live in an area where most of the closest bodies of water are alligator-infested swamps, so I have a healthy fear of it.

It seems a bit odd to refer to a “post-X world” when X hasn’t at all gone away (and indeed that seems at least partly the point of the reference).

Shad Gasper was a former professional wrestler and notoriously nice person who died in a riptide accident while swimming in the Pacific Ocean this year.

Well, just about every word of that is profoundly awful.
