I honestly think that’s why I remember TLJ so fondly (saw it twice I think in theatres and not since then). I am always thinking of Rey and Luke training or the throne room scene. Sometimes I think about some of the other plot lines and can barely remember what happens in them bc I blocked them out.

I mean I personally would say superhero movies but I know that’s an unpopular opinion

I love Golden Hour but it’s been so frustrating watching everyone lose their shit about that album and then not even go back and start giving attention to her other albums (including her). They just basically pretend like they don’t exist. They’re so good.

Now that I’ve seen it he is 100% the best part of that movie so if anyone makes that claim they’re insane

Apparently they can’t listen to anything that even borders on country unless it’s Kacey Musgraves (well, unless it’s Golden Hour specifically).

exactly.

Same. I’m mad at no one. I think the internet has forgotten that not every story has a bad guy.

lol I don’t know if that’s specific to something that happens in this movie and I’m not reading anything until I see it tomorrow night so I guess I’ll find out! Although unless his acting specifically is what ruins it and not the writing, he’s not really to blame. But most people don’t think that much.

Yeah people really don’t think about how much exhaustion alters your behavior and how utterly exhausted he much be. Especially as an introvert with a lot of anxiety who is heavily promoting 3 movies right now. As another introvert with high anxiety I can’t even imagine having to deal with that right now.

You are aware that not everyone has the same reaction to the same stimuli right? That the world is a very neurodiverse place? And some people have crippling anxiety while others have the ability to distance themselves from their work?

Yeah it makes me depressed when I watch old movies and a lot of the leading men even in action roles were just...normal looking. Now everyone has to be mega ripped. It’s such a bad standard and tbh I don’t find it attractive at all personally.

I did enjoy Widows, but again I felt for a lot of that movie that the characters were holding everyone at arm’s length and so I couldn’t really get very emotionally invested in their journey, even though I found it compelling to watch. But Hustlers brings you right into the fold, like JLo does with her big fur coat.

Yeah they should have specified that this was narrative films only, unless their staff just really don’t care about docs.

“Just a crime film with strippers.” And yet crime films about men often make the lists of greatest films of the year, or of all time. Including this list! I normally am not the kind of person to say generalizing things like “men don’t get it,” but the amount of men I’ve seen saying this movie was just average makes me

Yeah and I went and saw this in the theatre after I saw somewhere that it was a masterpiece and I almost fell asleep.

I thought it was Paul Hollywood

Maybe I’m giving myself too much credit but I relate to a highly successful playwright more than a murderous clown. Or a nazi child.

Bingo. More actors need to put their money where their mouth is. Tom Hanks specifically decided he was going to work with more female directors which is partly what led to him playing Fred Rogers. Walk the talk y’all!

And they gave Joker a B- which got nominated for best picture and director.

ALSO I think Hustlers is more worthy than Joker in most categories. Everything is subjective I guess but Lorene’s direction was so humanist and warm and loving towards the characters which is what I crave right now, not cold cynicism which I get enough of every day.
