Just because male police officers often don’t get prosecuted doesn’t mean we should sweep this case under the rug. We have to change it to “everybody gets prosecuted for killing someone”, not “men and women have equal rights to shoot black people”.

I argue that stalling not only endangers citizens but the very police officers states seem to want to protect at all costs. It’s a counter productive choice.

It’s not illegal to have a gun in NC. We can’t on one hand arm society to the teeth and remove gun ownership and carry restrictions, while on the other hand using that very same freedom to justify the shooting of an innocent, unaffiliated citizen.

But what IS totally new is openly admitting and accepting this person for what he is (racist, misogynistic, the list goes on and on and adds a new ist/ism/istic every damn day), running a multi-million dollar campaign against the asshole, and then saying, “eh, I guess he’s got my vote after all.
