Fucking beside myself with excitement for the new The Ocean record. It hits Friday in Europe, but I gotta wait for Tuesday for my download.

So far Mrs. Snape+1 has been pretty tame with the food cravings - cherry limeades from Sonic have been a biggie - but this weekend we're driving 4 hours to Houston to eat at a steakhouse we used to love here in Dallas before it closed. They're mac-n-cheese is unrivaled, and she's gotta have it.

Mrs. Snape and I have fallen head over heels for "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day" (Amazon link), and now we're never without a homemade loaf on hand. Crazy cheap, crazy good. It's better than anything you'll buy that comes sliced in a bag, dries out naturally (never molds) for breadcrumbs if you like, and you

I still dig the show, and I'm hoping SyFy continues with the 4th season. I'm surprised by this generally positive coverage of S3, though. I think this was by far the weakest season. Though not without its bits of greatness - I particular liked the witches of suburbia episode - season 3 has repeatedly relied on the

Favorite moment #1:
There have been plenty more subversive or sociologically interesting moments, but by far the funniest moment for me was in the pilot, the mock interview with Jon Benjamin feeding Nathan his lines.

Lines like that are a big part of what make the show, and Nathan Fielder, so compelling. Like Rabin said, you expect an anemic slip of a man, which he kind of is, but there's an aggressive side that pokes through from time to time that you never expect. Two more examples:

I planned to add Nirvana's Nevermind to the mix, so thank you for beating me to it. I could probably listen to that album front to back every day of my life.

His stage banter is second to none. Just utterly engaging from beginning to end. The consummate performer. It's an old trick, seen many times and always the same, but his rendition of the "Cup and Balls" is easily my favorite:

@Whatwhatque:disqus You might like the Peticolas Velvet Hammer. Too hoppy for me by far, and I seem to see it around Dallas pretty often.

All the "beer connoisseur" friends I have are big IPA fiends as well. I've had a few I've liked, and who doesn't want a higher ABV beer, but I'm still hesitant to order them.

I like his instrumentals quite a lot, actually. He's a brilliant guitar player, though I'm no fan of his music overall, or really any country beyond old-school Alan Jackson.

I'm convinced that "Mud on the Tires" is about anal sex. I'm also convinced that's just me.

Sounds more a coconut curry than a modified tikka masala, but sounds delicious whatever you call it. I love making vegetable tikka masala, and it's one of Mrs. Snape's favorites as well.

Tomorrow I'm doing a fried pork cutlet sandwich with sauteed rapini with garlic and red chili on top, but it needs a sauce. I could do a lemon-caper aioli easily enough that I think would go well, but the wife doesn't love mayonnaise sauces - she'll tolerate them, but eh, I think I can do better.

I like it a lot, as I have liked every Fall Out Boy record. I'm sure part of it's nostalgia, but that can only take me so far, as there's plenty from the same early 2000's era that I loved then and couldn't care less about today. Fall Out Boy surpasses that threshold for me. Patrick's hooks and voice continue to grab

As a normal 17 year-old boy? Terrible. But as a 17 year-old psychopath who's lived such a sheltered life that he has had no opportunity to learn and practice social cues, I rather like him. I think his creepily robotic performance is one of the show's stronger attributes.

Well, it definitely won't be in the next LOUD column, because there won't be one of those. I could see it happening in the main music section though.

@TheTuckPendletonMachine:disqus I can already see myself miming the length of the cock.

Gonna tell the wife this one tonight. Exactly her kind of joke.

Are there any good Android applications for cataloging beers I've tried? I rarely drink the same thing twice when I go out, because I'm always eager to try something new, but my memory it super shitty about it. If I could just remember, I think I could be a lot more use to this thread.
