I’m pretty sure there are well over a few hundred people left in The Last of Us universe. And I for one am happy to see the game finding warmth and humanity in a place like this. I really don’t understand why Batman’s enemies are all considered criminally insane. Sure, they act crazy and dress funny, but it seems like the Joker’s schemes involve a shit-ton of what any courtroom would consider premeditation.
This whole event seems more like a metacommentary on DC’s self-loathing at being the “uncool” comics publisher for most of its existence than anything else.
I see where you’re coming from, and there’s certainly something for it as well - it’s a time when emotions are raw, and the potential for misunderstanding is rife. But some things come to mind.
