It's actually not a vanishingly uncommon a surname in parts of the UK. Apparently it's believed to originate with people who were born at Christmas. I also share my name with a musician who played guitar on Bowie's Space Oddity, but as far as I'm aware I wasn't named after him.

Keith Christmas

There is a human being in the world named Ocean Quigley? That's amazing. And I thought my name was a little bit silly...

Fair point. I'm afraid my knowledge of metallurgy isn't all that deep, and you may well be right. It seemed like a good-ish match for adamantium based on that article. I did a bit more googling and dug this up

That's a bloody complicated question. The strongest elemental metal is Tungsten, but it's far too brittle to use for a cutting edge. Maraging Steel is extremely tough, but it's fairly malleable so it won't hold a good cutting edge. The problem tends to be that the harder the metal is, the more brittle it becomes.

These puppies are sharp—at one point during the "smash stuff" section by AweMeChannel, they cut through some thin metal.

Seriously, if this really is the Fallout meets Just Cause game the setting and developer would suggest, this could potentially be the best thing ever.

Did I get unstarred/unfollowed by Kotaku, or is Kinja just misbehaving? I used to be able to post without getting greyed out...

I wonder what Danzig makes of all this...

Squeenix really do seem to be struggling a bit with the concept of mobile gaming. Their pricing in comparison to everything else you find in the app/play stores has been frankly insane, and this seemed like another instance of them just not getting how things work in this space.

Well, since Pokémon are usually based on several things at once, it's kinda all of the above. Here's its sprite from Gen III, where it first appeared

Depends what you want to get out of it. If you're just looking for a JRPG with an engaging story and interesting mechanics, I don't know that I'd recommend it if you're already a fan of that genre.

We've had a badger pokémon for years...

The only achievement I ever recall setting out to get and being really happy I did was the one for completing Mirror's Edge without shooting anyone.

*psst* I know. Well, I didn't specifically know that, but I know he's still active and as crazy as ever. I was just making a joke about the guy in the video looking kinda like him.

Huh. I always wondered what happened to Andrew WK.

Wait, wasn't he in Carry On Screaming?

Although Backspace wasn't an open-world game...

You laugh, but it could happen...

I suppose that depends what you mean by "our generation". I'll be 31 in a couple of weeks...
