I predict a fair percentage of these are going to end up sitting on the deck of rich guys’ yachts.

My dad had a Porsche 356 in the early 70s when it was just a used car, not a mega dollar classic. He bought it from his landlord who had to take the Porsche engine out of his VW van and put it back in the 356. Unfortunately this was long before I was born, he graduated to more cushy rides at some point. He had a few

While this is definitely true, most private sector employees don’t have bosses that loudly complain about censorship and refer to themselves as “free speech absolutists.”

A base 4Runner is already like 40K, if they ever get around to a redesign it’ll probably be closer to 50

This is very true, a huge percentage of the ads are in Spanish. Disgusting how some of these people have no problem exploiting their fellow immigrants to make a quick buck.

You must also be in South Florida. It’s very difficult to find legitimate ads with all the scammy crap. I’m trying to help my GF find a cheap car and it’s very frustrating. Most of the sub 5K listings are people listing the down payment as the price.

That’s right down the street from where I live! Gotta love my neighborhood.

This is the worst possible take. There are plenty of wealthy and powerful people that give nothing back, while she is using her valuable time to advocate for criminal justice reform. I wish her great success in pursuing these very worthy goals.

Often budget hotels include more for fee than the luxury properties. Usually you’ll get free parking, breakfast and wifi at a basic chain. I’ve had to pay extra for all of those at a luxury property. They often also have high daily “resort fees”. You always want to check what’s included when booking hotels.

Rolex, possibly in collaboration with Lexus.

Volvo is the best choice here by far, maybe look at Lincoln Aviator also.

The Blazer comparison really holds no water here. New Defender is a very capable off road vehicle with great styling that evokes the original. The new Blazer has absolutely no off road capability or aesthetic resemblance to it’s predecessors.

Hard to believe he’s out of money but refusal to pay is very believable.

This case is a gold mine for whatever attorney reps him and he still has burned through four of them. Amazing.

Counterpoint: I’m 6'4" and I put my backpack at my feet and my rolling bag in the overhead because I’m not a selfish asshole. Larger people are very squeezed in coach, you are right about that. I pay for the extended legroom seats for any flight longer than about 90 minutes.

Key West tried to ban big cruise ships recently but the state stepped in and put a stop to it. The megaships crowd the town and make a lot of money for a small amount of people, with little benefit to most residents. The cruise ship passengers aren’t staying in local hotels or eating at local restaurants.

My parents did a cruise last month. Originally scheduled for five port calls and four of those were cancelled due to unspecified COVID related reasons. I would not want to get on a cruise ship right now with all the COVID risks.

It’s mostly eating, then sitting by the pool waiting to get hungry again. The food is generally much better than Golden Corral.

As it stands now I understand these concerns, but hopefully many of these problems will get much better in the coming years. Charging infrastructure is the major impediment for me, every EV review I read makes it clear that apart from Tesla’s superchargers the charging network is an absolute mess.

My problem with fast food is the effect of the grease on my digestive system more than the nutrition facts. If this dude has a cast iron stomach, more power to him.
