I was 12, and on summer break. On the first day, I noticed something when I was getting ready for bed...but it was completely brown, since my underwear were blue. I distinctly remember thinking something along the lines of "If I were stupid, I would think this was my first period." (I do not recall if I actually

Exactly. Either that or some kind of typical colonialist or Islamophobic/racist (already seen that too!) comment that purports to promote the ~real~ solution to the problem that everyone else is too ~PC~ to admit....ugh....

Most of that doesn't contradict what I said. Note my last sentence. I am actually against male circumcision. But, you're drawing a false equivalency, still. FGC extends beyond matters of consent - it is a gendered act of violence with major with certain negative effects that are nearly universally agreed upon. Both do

Male circumcision is NOTHING like FGC and shouldn't be considered anywhere on the same level. Making the comparison is completely derailing the discussion. Not to mention the fact that it's possible to care about more than one issue of varying severity at once while not addressing all in a single article..............

I think it refers to the thing where people make playlists that are based on their favorite book/other fandom.

At my school we HAVE to call security first unless it is an absolute life and death situation (i.e., someone is pointing a gun at you) and they get to decide if the police get involved. So going straight to the police could make the school view you in an even more negative life. Which is generally pretty fucked up.

Wow I almost wonder if pageants might be a tool of the patriarchy to convince women that attractiveness is vital to life and turn us against each other.

If your school allows you to rent a study carrel/some other kind of personal desk space in the library, do. My school does this (I don't really know how common it is, but I can't imagine there are no other schools that do it). Studying in the dorms is not a thing that happens, trust me, and it's nice to have your own

I agree in that I sincerely HOPE it will do well as a fan of Fey, but I don't have high expectations.

Normally I would agree, but I just don't know. Like I said in my reply to heymisslayla below, I just don't see what the humor will rely on.

I am a fan of Tina Fey in general (though I think 30 Rock got a little stale towards the end), but I just don't see how ANYONE could make this premise work in a humorous way without stereotypes and putting down women's education. Like I don't really see where the jokes could come from except "lol men and women are

I am a women's college student and the premise of the second show is kind of making me roll my eyes, to be honest. Maybe I'll be surprised, but I really can't see that going anyway but tons of dumb stereotypes.

I'm not really seeing the problem here. It's not censorship, it's a choice. I think there's some kinks that need to be worked out (privacy on the part of the internet providers, how the porn filter will work in the first place), but it seems like an okay start to me. Personally, I'm pretty anti-porn, but I don't think

All of season five is on hulu (not hulu plus, regular old free but sit through ads hulu) but I don't know how long that's supposed to be up.

I guess I don't see how teaching "all kids about consent and communication from an early age" is some how at odds with Biddulph's tips. Obviously I would discuss that with my hypothetical teenage son, but that doesn't mean I would let him have unrestricted access to porn, especially violent, degrading porn.

Neither of those articles says anything about sexual pleasure.

My life is complete. Thank you.
