Sir, you sound like the model buyer for our exciting, refreshed Mitsubishi Mirage. It’s all you could want, and less!

As an old AND a person who has worked with electronics and sensors for 30 years, I would rather DRIVE MY FUCKING CAR and not rely on buggy equipment and software to do it for me
I loathe inspections, they are inconvenient and too often expensive, and I’ll be damned if I’ll let them get abolished because as inconvenient and expensive as they are they do save lives. And the life being saved might be mine, and I’m attached to it.
I agree. The issue I have with this article is that she doesn’t clarify the safety risks of turning everything off. There’s a lot more to it and just telling everyone to turn off their safety aids is irresponsible.
I lived in Maine most of my life, now live in FL mostly. Until I was in high school in the ‘80s, inspections in Maine were TWICE a year. And even at once a year, they are an annoyance for those of us that take good care of our cars. But even so, my mechanic spotted things I missed once or twice over the years, so I…
my shitty old 1995 Honda Accord, whose ball joint—as shown above—was on the verge of busting out of its socket. God I hated that car.
Comment more, you hosers. Shout down the lame comments with good ones.
= Love at every speed.
No no, we’re fine (blinks repeatedly) and don’t need you to send help (taps my own nose) because we are in mortal danger (nodding furiously)
I was also surprised: the suggestions met the needs of the requester! Less exciting than the 30 year old luxobarge you can’t get parts for but will look great outside your Brooklyn walkup, but actually useful!
Just thought the same thing. Who are these imposters and what did they do with the real jalopnik staff!?!?!?!
Have you seen the rumor on the joint Toyota/Subaru B-segment car? Word on the street is that Akio Toyoda wants more Japanese involvement in WRC and that means Subaru and Mitsubishi. Since Toyota upped their holding in Subaru, and given previous models like the 86/BRZ, I think that this could happen.
Yeah, I was waiting for the Corvair Wagon but it never showed up.
No Torch, no Tracy.
thats cause no Torch or Tracy making suggestions. The VW here is definitely the right call.
Agreed! This is definitely the first time the list wasn’t full of bad suggestions.
Will it turn left, ever?
Jason, you’re logged in under Andrew’s account, just FYI
I think I mentioned this before, but I just became the proud owner of a simple truck. It’s a 1994 Ford F-150 with a straight-6. For all intents and purposes, it was a “pepaw” truck. It is simple, with a minimal number of lines. It’s basically boxes. It’s boxy, and that’s good.
Nailed the analysis. This was designed by a group of engineers and yuppies who’ve never actually used a truck (other than jacking one in GTA)
