The British developing smaller humans in the 1960s? I believe it was to fit twice as many in the same building height, or at least that’s that this song told me. There was an announcement from genetic control about a 4 foot restriction on humanoid height, I’m guessing you didn’t get the news?

Ok, you were right. I guess I couldn’t assume even Uber would be that stupid but yeah after reading that explanation... they didn’t even write code to emergency brake. That seems to me like it should be a requirement for testing on a live road but hey, what do I know! Unreal...

I get what you’re saying - no Uber did not turn off “Volvo braking” and then write an identical“Uber braking” program to replace it. However, try to think of it in the larger sense - they wrote software to autonomously drive. Seeing an object in the road and automatically braking to avoid hitting it (what the Volvo

But that’s just the thing... they DID replace it, with their own software, that should have also seen and stopped it. The human driver was the backup for their software, not there just because they disabled the volvo system. In that case the backup driver would just be... the driver.

Not that I’m against tiered licenses - actually I think it’s a good idea - but a tier based solely on horsepower seems like a bad idea. Add in age (or years of driving experience), weight, and maybe drivetrain (RWD vs AWD, etc) and it’d be more fair. Of course it’d be a lot more complicated too.

I mean yeah, a motorcycle is probably the most effective getaway vehicle all things considered. But fuel range? I don’t think so. I’ve owned 5 bikes and none of them got more like 150 miles a tank. Sure there are some touring bikes that could put that to shame, but so will pretty much any car

Nothing says patina like “rusted” plastic bumpers

Small, stripped down basic hatchback. Comes in white. Yup, I wish all cars came in “rally spec”

I’ve lived both sides of the coin. I did a lot of preventative maintenance on my Outback XT when I got it, and it saved me in a couple of cases when I found things that were still working but very close to breaking (like the fact that one of the grounding straps running to the engine was severed and the other holding

In before “Good riddance - millennials don’t ride motorcycle much less fat heavy hogs. Let them die off with the flag waving white sneakers crowd” or posts about electric bikes that look like snails being the future

As both a photographer, a fan of cars, and someone who had (has somewhere?) a gameboy camera I appreciate this content

I thought the point of a supercar for the non racing fans that can afford them is to make them LOOK like they could be dangerous playboy racing drivers? Making a fully autonomous one would take that away as soon as people on the street realize “hah, that rich guy can’t even try to drive. That’s a computer!”

‘lumps at the ‘ring? ‘lumps at the ‘ring. Looking forward to the coverage!

I’m a relative youth (29) and a photographer and I get the love of film completely. I am sad that Kodachrome is no more (or at least is relegated to aging on the display shelf in my darkroom) but with the way Kodak has been supporting film again it’s not impossible to see it coming back. They recently brought back

I have a Helios 44 as well and I’ll second the recommendation for its swirly bokeh. It came on a Zenit-E body I was excited to use as well, but I made a mistake in testing out the self timer while looking it over and it made a snapping sound and now the shutter refuses to work. It was more or less given to me so no

I miss my canonet something awful. I dropped it on the sidewalk outside Kubus photo in Greenpoint and dented it up bad enough that I sold it figuring I’d buy a cleaner one. The thing is I got it for $10 at a flea market and nice ones on ebay are over $100 now so I’ve tried to fill the void with a couple minolta

I know how you feel... like exactly. See this? This was a Pentax SMC-M 50mm f1.4 that had a fungus problem I decided I was capable of fixing.

That’s like the opposite of my experience... some people do want to try it and get a nicer drink experience by trying something new, but most people I know are like “you’re drinking raw egg yolks in there? That’s nasty”

That looks tasty too

Add “and egg white” to the “made with real lemon juice” and I’ll bite. Come at me
