Those are nice pictures, no doubt... but are they that much better than standard sports car release shots? Asking in all seriousness as I’m not a journalist. They just seem pretty much exactly what I’d expect

Well, I guess I should get a used Yaris commuter for cheap now before the price of every used small car goes insane...
Bob Dylan is actually a construct made of silver gelatin, and as such he can only truly exist on film
You have chosen well my friend.
Agreed. And obviously he was going way too fast and would have been lucky for any outcome better than this, but I like how he (over)corrects the first slide then just gives up and locks the brakes until he slides into the wall.
I know a guy with a tuned Fozzie that loves his. I’m glad Subaru still makes a turbo people hauler that isn’t the WRX, but yeah the CVT does kill it for me. I don’t question it’s performance (especially in a straight line), I just like being able to shift. Plus I’m a sucker for a hood scoop...
That is the question, but being familiar with both my mom’s regular crosstrek and my outback XT I for one totally would.
So it’s a faster, better Crosstrek... cool. Now if this thing sells hopefully Subaru will take note. I have a 13 year old Outback that is more powerful than this, weighs the same or less, and has a manual - Subaru knows this recipe by heart they just need to act on it.
As someone that also shoots with a really shallow depth of field, natural light, and regularly crushes blacks in editing I really enjoyed your photos - it just looks “normal” to me. Then again, most of my personal work is done shooting pushed Tri-X film on fast primes so inky blackness seems pretty natural.
I mean I’m on the high end of millennial (I’m almost 30) but technically yeah. I’ve bee riding since I was 16, and dirt bikes for a couple years before that. It helps to live in a rather rural area I think, most of my friends ride or at least have their license
I’m a motorcycle riding millennial - and while I have to respect it for being so different and I’m no Harley fanboy - I think I’d rather have a hog than a giant Italian ice colored snail thing. Just being honest
I have seen it. It is definitely cool
Ok, but my point is that my 40 year old also air cooled engine is 50cc smaller and makes the same torque. Even with the detuning, there hasn’t been any improvements in engine design over the last 40 years that could squeak out an extra 10-15lb-ft of torque?
Why does nobody make a bike of this type with a decent amount of torque?
I have no pics easily accessible, but back when I was 17 I took an art class trip to Italy and stumbled onto a street parked Ferrari f40 in Florence... which me and my friends definitely stopped and drooled over
I like your answer. And I also find it odd that both you and Raph went with cars from Mitsubishi... did they just make cars more conducive to fur?
If every car was covered in long fur instead of sheet metal (but still in the same colors as the paint would be) what would be the best car?
So the only way to make it not want to tip over in corners is to keep the back wheels spinning and drift it.... basically the only choice you get is which way you want to not really be fully in control of it.
A lot of people might lament how long Subaru’s kept that engine/configuration around but not me. Even more than the creation of the 22b I think the fact that Subaru put their turbo EJ into pretty much every one of their cars at some point speaks to how willing they were for a while to do things nobody else would or…
