For the more unique car references in hip hop you need to look back to the older stuff before everything was just a “lambo”. Full disclosure: I don’t really listen to newer stuff so I could be dead wrong on that. But still just off the top of my head - A Tribe Called Quest told people to “Boom in in your Jeep or your

My eyes have been kind of bothering me today... seeing that picture didn’t help. Everything just went kind of squinty...

While he’s definitely got some trick intercooler/intake stuff I’d like plus better suspension and less weight, he’s asking well over twice what I paid for my ‘05 Outback XT 2 years ago. I’ve got the same transmission and steering wheel and at stage 2 am probably not making a whole lot less power either. Subarus can be

I’ve seen photos of a guy on here driving around in 10+” of snow in a BRZ. I’m pretty sure with good winter tires it is indeed fine.

Only shot Ektachrome once, and it was expired by a good time. Hoping to do some more serious shooting with slide films this year, and I’m guessing an accurate meter will be a big help!

You shot a lot of slide film for this in a bunch of random lighting conditions and came away with some pretty decent exposures. Awesome work!

I think the nice ones were over $10k, but I’m pretty certain you could find ratty ones (the only ones I could consider) for less

Ugh. My first car was a 528e I got for $200 in what must have been 2004. I remember reading through the want ad digest (pre me using craigslist) and drooling over the out of reach e30 M3s at like... 5-8k. Man am I reevaluating my life choices at this point...

Yeah, I hear you. I think I’m a pretty open minded gearhead since I like pretty much anything with a motor and wheels on it whether it’s a piece of crap or not. I’d like to think everybody on here is the same way but alas, it is still the internet...

Rudest things I’ve heard about my car(s) have usually come from trolls in the comments here honestly.

I had a Team Losi buggy as a kid my cousin gave me and it would max out at about 45. I would sometimes chase the school bus up and down the street when it dropped the neighbors off, sometimes with a sony handycam strapped on the top (which did effect the performance somewhat). Benefits of being homeschooled, I guess.

We’ve all been there... well I have anyways

I discovered the “wrenching by headlamp” thing a few years back and thought I was the last one to the party. I’ve done some pretty involved wrenching at night in just my back yard using nothing but a head lamp and it truly is essential to my workflow at this point

Exactly. I moved 2 lanes on the highway to give an Altima of this vintage and “character” a wide berth last week. When my wife asked me what I did that for I said “It’s an Altima, watch.” Sure enough he flew past, tailgated a couple people and then cut through a gap in the slow lane with a few inches to spare.

I would assume they both do, hence the “custom reverse headers” mentioned. Which by itself is not a bad thing, yet I still agree with your general assessment of the car.

I’m nowhere near these guys level, or even really in the same ballpark, but I did do my first couple baby triathlons 2 years ago - a sprint and an Olympic. I have to say it’s refreshing to see these guys just out pushing themselves because they can, and not for any other real reason.

My first two cars I bought myself (crappy rusted out BMWs actually, before they were worth something again), but my parents did give me their 2000 outback when I went off to college. It honestly was a great and practical car for somebody in that position - plenty of room for gear (and as I played in a band at the time

0/10, would not hoon

That’s awesome! I’m going to have to shell out for this. I had the original WRC+ when it first came out for a year and enjoyed it, but ended up not renewing when I got married and wanted some more free money. This should get me back though. I really liked their commentators too

Awww that’s a bummer. My last FWD car was a crappy MK4 GTI, and I eventually learned to slide it around pretty good. I’m not too familiar with the modern nannies.
