Such a bummer that this is for the multiplayer. Adored the main game, and would gladly pay for a few more floors to explore.
Seconded. I cannot stop playing Slay The Spire. I’ve never been much for deck builders, but STS’s game loop has me hooked!

Did they actually make this trailer in iMovie?
The text in nearly all games is too small. Dialogue boxes. Menus. UI. All of it is too small. I don’t know enough about game development to say this for sure, but I feel like developers aren’t standing back from their work often enough to see what the overall picture looks like. If you are only ever working a foot…
For me personally, I would have loved the ability to play as someone less human. I think about all of the many alien race Jedi that are hinted at in the prequels (and fleshed out in The Clone Wars animated series) and it feels like a missed opportunity to me. I don’t really have a problem with his design-I too like…
I’m very excited to play this game, but man-do I wish the MC was more interesting.
My girlfriend and I have also discussed the very real possibility that we will need a second Switch for her once Animal Crossing comes out. Fingers crossed the Switch lite (or whatever it may be called) rumors are true...
Thank you for this! I couldn’t make heads or tails out of what was happening outside of all the Tetris-y goodness.
I honestly thought that was coming too. Would have eased the pain greatly.
Somehow, the game never explains that to get higher you need to fling yourself up, then bounce upon landing, and THEN start flapping your arms. I actually quit the game at one point, then back at the home screen was reminded that the game had “bouncy” in the title and gave it another shot.
You’ll have to let us know what you think. Really, it’s a mess-but also: $0.14? I almost wanted to buy it just to reward a developer for such a silly move.
I am willing to admit that last Friday while perusing the eShop I said “14 cents? fine. this should be good for a laugh.” I was playing it with a friend and we couldn’t stop laughing at how bad it is. I couldn’t even finish the tutorial, the controls are so broken. We faired better in Bouncy Bob’s multiplayer, but…
I’ve been playing and enjoying this game too. It can be a little rough around the edges, but nothing game breaking. The singing mechanic and the bouncy, positive attitude of the whole game more than makes up for being able to see the seams.
As someone who mains Toon Link (but also sucks at Smash) I LOVE this.
There was a time when I would have agreed with you on this. I’ve eaten many a Guacamole Burger from them in the past (and their nachos used to be killer too). But I agree with others here that they have taken a dive over the last few years.
“Because when I’m jonesin’ for a burger, neither Applebee’s, Friday’s, nor Chili’s are at the top of my list”
Couldn’t agree more. This will likely become a quick fav on my phone, but it feels like a waste of time with my Switch.
I would say that Adventure Pals is as soothing a platformer as you could play if you like that sort of thing. It is a little post-modern in its cutesiness, but the platforming is solid and fun. And if you like to 100% a game, this is the game to play. I think out of the 20 hours I put into the game, I maybe had to go…
This was fun!
